Gus picked up the small leather-bound book. Opening the first page, he read and then passed it to Dev.

“You should read this. It’s written in English.”

Dev took the book.

“Today, I married the woman I love. Her family did not wish it, but our love for each other could not be denied. Lady Samantha Raven is now my wife,” Dev said, his voice hoarse. “The morning after union, I woke to something odd. My vision seemed to have changed, and I could see people in colors.”

“I need to sit down,” Cam whispered.

“There are more of his writings. Albert Sinclair made notes about the change to his vision and how he saved his wife, Samantha, from being trampled by a horse,” Dev said.

Dev and James took a cup of mulled wine each, then stood before the family.

“To us, united always through the bonds of love and destiny,” Dev said, raising his glass. “And to the Ravens who have made us whole.”

“To us,” James added, raising his glass beside the man who was his brother in every way but blood. “To the Sinclairs, our saviors, who we love with all that we are.”
