“Oh my God!”
Derrick comes running back into the room at my exclamation. “What?”
I point at the screen. “It has a red banner! It says coming soon!”
“No fucking way.” My Alpha leans over the back of the couch, squinting behind his glasses.
“Why would I lie about something like this?” I click into our favorite show and page over until I find a trailer for the new season.
“Oh, apparently it got picked up last year.” Ivan grins over the top of his phone. I knew it was put on streaming services shortly after our season aired because of all the chatter, but I didn’t expect this. “So many people were streaming it that it was greenlit for a new season. You two single-handedly brought back your favorite television show.”
Grant snags Ivan’s phone to read it for himself. “Then why weren’t they asked to host it? God, how cool would that have been?”
I press play on the trailer, which mostly features spooky music and a deep-voiced narrator talking over establishing shots of different locations. It’s nothing revolutionary, but I’m on the edge of my seat.
“Join me, Remington Burke, along with my Omega cohost, Emmett Montgomery, as we travel around the world and investigate theUnexplainable and Bizarre.”
“Who’s Remington Burke?” Derrick asks once the trailer is done.
Ivan grabs my glass of wine and takes a sip, like he doesn’t have his own drink. “He’s an Alpha comedian. He’s one of the big ones on social media.”
I snatch it back. “Why would they invite a comedian to host?”
Grant looks up from his phone. “I wonder if he doesn’t believe in the paranormal? I looked up Emmett Montgomery, and he’s a well-known paranormal investigator. They may be setting him up to be the butt of Remmington’s jokes.”
“If that’s true, I’m going to be pissed. Putting an Omega in a position to be made fun of by an Alpha forwhat, ratings?” I accept the bowl of popcorn that Derrick hands me and shove a handful in my mouth.
“I think we’ve learned there are a lot of things they’ll do for ratings.” My Alpha’s eyes sparkle behind his glasses. “I seem to remember that a certain show challenged an Omega to bond with two strangers.”
Never once in the two and a half years since I bonded with the guys have I regretted it. They annoy the shit out of me sometimes, but I’d be worried if they didn’t. Being in a pack with the three of them just makes sense.
“And their ratings haven’t been as high since.”
