“You must’ve known I’d say yes.”
He shook his head. “You’re an intelligent woman. You could’ve seen sense at some point.”
She laughed, smacking him playfully. “I saw sense when I made the biggest donation of my life to get a date in public with you.”
Jake kissed her, hoping the ice cream stayed frozen for a little longer. He had plans before they got to that dessert. “It was all worth it.”
