Jes said that last part as softly as she could, well aware there were werewolves in the other room—including Zoe and Chloe—who could overhear everything she and Jake said if they wanted to.

Jake chuckled and kissed her again. His mouth tasted so good it was hard not moaning out loud. Maybe no one would notice if they slipped into his bedroom for a few minutes and closed the door?

While Jes hadn’t officially moved in or anything like that yet, she might as well have, since she’d been staying at his place every night since getting back from the mission. She couldn’t stand being separated from Jake, and the feeling was mutual. Fortunately, the twins were thrilled to have her in Jake’s life and theirs. As for her, she simply adored the girls.

“Do you have any idea how much I love you?” Jake murmured, not bothering to lower his voice. Not that he needed to. Everyone knew about their relationship.

“Yeah, I’m pretty sure I do,” she said, trailing her mouth over to his ear and nibbling on all the tasty parts along the way. “Since it’s exactly as much as I love you.”

A few days after getting back from London, she and Jake had sat down with McKay to talk about their relationship. They let him know they were going to be together whether he was okay with it or not. They’d already agreed they’d walk away from the team before they ever walked away from each other. Surprisingly, McKay had been extremely open to the idea.

“I know the legend ofThe One,” he’d told them. “As long as you two can continue to work as a team, I don’t have a problem with you being together.”

That had been music to their ears and exactly what they’d been hoping he would say.

She and Jake stopped kissing when Caleb asked if they could come up for air long enough to grab him another beer.

Laughing, they grabbed a couple beers from the fridge—one for Jake and the other for Caleb—then went back into the living room to find some seats.

“It’s nice having the whole team here together,” Jake said softly as they sat together on the couch.

“You mean the whole pack, right?” she asked teasingly, nudging his shoulder with hers.

Jake considered that for a moment, then flashed her a smile that lit up the room…and her heart. “Right. The whole pack.”

He looked like he would have said more, but his cell phone rang before he could. Pulling his cell from his pocket, he checked the screen to see who was calling, then thumbed the green button and put it to his ear.

“McKay,” he said. “What’s up?”

Every werewolf in the room—including the twins—stopped what they were doing to focus on Jake. It took a moment for her to realize they were listening to what McKay was saying on the other end of the line. Man, she’d love to have their hearing. She couldn’t pick up anything he was saying and she was sitting right beside Jake.

Jake hung up and looked at them. “We have a mission—possible human trafficking involving our specialty.”

Since Austin and Colt didn’t know what their team specialized in, Jake couldn’t say, but Jes knew what he meant. Human trafficking with a supernatural angle.

“Our plane leaves in two hours,” Jake added, getting to his feet.

She and the rest of the team—the Pack—stood as well, Harley and Caleb already heading for the door.

“Where are we going?” Jes asked.

He grinned. “Paris.”

Paris, huh? As she and Jake hurried into the bedroom to pack, Jes wondered if they might slip in a romantic dinner while they were over there. In between saving the world, of course.
