“Well…I can’t promise that. But I was curious as to what your chat with Raven was ’bout if it had her mentionin’ orgasms.”
Groaning, I knew he’d find a way to bring that up. “That’s confidential. Ya know, girl code. Can’t share details ’bout a private conversation.”
“Couldn’t have been that private if Sam overheard y’all.” He smirks, crossing his arms. The moment makes his shirt tighten across his chest. “And I think girl code gets voided if the personbeing talked ’bout learns y’all were talkin’ ’bout him. He earns the right to know.”
“Regrettably, most of it slips my mind.” I shrug, bringing the mug back to my mouth.
“You might wanna get that checked out.”
I set my tea down, staring curiously at him. “What?”
“Your chronic condition, selective amnesia. Seems to be quite the problem.”
“There’s no treatment, sadly.”
“How unfortunate.” He pushes off the counter, walking toward me with an intensity I haven’t seen in him since the night we first met. “Maybe I should refresh your memory.”
I hold his gaze and swallow hard. Before Lily interrupted us and he confessed he was crazy about me, I almost begged him to touch me then.
“Maybe you should.”
“If you want me to kiss you, you’re gonna have to be the one who crosses that line.”
He’s being respectful of my earlier wishes, which is commendable, but now I want him to be anything but nice.
I close the gap between us, staring into his hooded eyes. “Kiss me,please.”
“You’re sure?” He wraps a loose strand of my hair behind my ear, softly caressing my cheek. “Because once we break through those boundaries, there’s no goin’ back this time.”
Rising up on my tiptoes, I gently brush my lips against his, but he doesn’t reciprocate.
“Colt…” I blink at him, worried he’s going to deny me what we both want. “Take my kiss. Take whatever you want from me. I’m done pushin’ you away.”
Without hesitating, he cups my face and slants his mouth over mine. Fireworks erupt in my core when his tongue piercing slides between my lips, and I moan when he deepens the kiss.
“Fuck, Amelia,” he breathes out, cupping my ass and setting me on the counter. The movement bumps my mug, spilling the tea everywhere.
“Oh shit,” I mutter.
“Leave it.” He lifts me again, but this time my legs wrap around his waist, and he carries me.
He continues devouring me while blindly walking to his bedroom. Once he kicks the door shut, he sets me on the mattress and towers above me.
“Tell me you want this as much as I do,” he demands, sucking on my neck and whispering in my ear. “You won’t be able to run away this time, so you better be certain you can face me in the mornin’.”
My chest tightens at how devastated he must’ve been when he woke up, and I was already gone.
“I do, even more than before,” I reassure him.
“Thank fuck.” He lifts, then pulls me up with him. “C’mon, we’re gettin’ in the shower.”
“What, why?” I ask, letting him lead me.
“’Cause I wanna hear you scream my name like before, but don’t wanna risk wakin’ the kids.” He winks over his shoulder. “And I wanna see every inch of you this time.”
That makes me freeze, worried about what he’ll see on my body. When we went back to his hotel room, he kept the main lights off, but there was a dim night light in the bathroom. I’m sure he could see or feel them, but in the dark, it was easier to pretend they didn’t exist.
“What’s wrong?” he asks, facing me. “Is this too fast?”
