Braden bursts out laughing, and we start laughing too.

What a journey we’ve been through since then.

I continue the story, with Alexander chiming in here and there, and by the end, we’re all cried out from tears of laughter.

“Wow, this would be the best story ever at your wedding,” Braden says, making my heart gallop in my chest.

When I catch Alexander’s eye, the look he gives me is like no other.

Clearly not fazed by the suggestion from his brother, he simply says,

“Yeah, it will be.”

Chapter 23

Alexander

I enter the apartment after my morning run, and the sight that awaits me might be my favourite one so far.

Sarah is cooking in the kitchen, wearing only one of my t-shirts, while music flows from the speakers.

“Perfect, breakfast is almost ready.”

She gives me a breathtaking smile as I saunter up to her, kissing her.

“This smells delicious, baby,” I murmur against her lips.

“Yeah, and you don’t, go take a quick shower, then we’ll eat.”

She pushes me towards the bathroom, making me chuckle.

I could get used to this routine.

Having her in my home, sharing meals, watching TV, getting ready in the morning with her, it all fuels me with energy, having her close.

Luckily, I convinced Braden to get a hotel room this time, leaving me alone with Sarah for our perfect Sunday morning.

We spent the whole day with him yesterday and will meet him again later today, but right now I’m grateful for some time alone with my girl.

We’ve made a few stops to her apartment over the last week, each time bringing more stuff for her.

She’s tried to persuade me that she should spend a few days in her dorm, saying she doesn’t want me to tire of her, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

Each time, I’ve convinced her that she should stay with me, waking her up with morning sex, and letting her know why this is the best option.

I’m slowly but surely turning my home into our home.

I take a quick shower, and the table is all ready when I get back.

“I think I’ll go back home to my dad soon, maybe Tuesday,” Sarah tells me.

Visiting her dad is important to Sarah, and I want to tag along and get to know him better. But I’m also uncertain Sarah will think we’re moving too fast, even though I’ve already met the man.

Our circumstances are quite different now.

“If you’re okay with it, I’d like to come along,” I tell her, waiting for her reaction.

First comes a slight shock as she stares at me, then realization dawns, and she gives me a beautiful smile.
