Making me his?

What does that even mean?

Does he want to have sex and burn out the chemistry between us, or is there something more?

I guess time will tell.

I decide he’s waited long enough and that I’ll email him to plan our next meeting. It seems like the least I can do after he had my back.

And it is my job, after all.

I head back to my office, turn on my computer, and send out the email before I have a chance to back out.

I suggest we meet after their game on Friday. They’re playing early in the day, and he should be free after media duties.

It probably won’t take too long.

Once the email is sent, I begin creating new graphics for the team’s social media and for individual players. Samantha is out of the office, so I get lost in work.

When the email notification pings later, I feel a flutter in my stomach as I see Alexander has replied.

Dear Sarah,

Friday after the game and media duties will be perfect.

I’ll meet you at my apartment.

The Captain.

He can’t be serious.

And didn’t I suggest a place to meet? I must have.

I check my own email and realize my mistake.

I didn’t suggest a place for us to meet.

Of course, he would take charge then.

I just gave him a great opportunity.

It’s common for me to meet with players at their apartments. Many of them prefer that over meeting in public places where they could be photographed and so on.

Most meetings happen here at the arena, but sometimes it’s easier for them to meet me at home.

Usually, it doesn’t send my heart racing because I don’t usually want to sleep with him.

With Alexander, on the other hand, everything feels intense and different.

Being alone with him in public spaces already makes me feel hot. Imagine how it will be when we’re in his space.

Part of me is also curious to see his place. The last time I visited him, he was staying in a hotel, but now his address is in one of the nicer apartment buildings not far from the rink.

I know this since I’ve been to Noah’s place too, and it looks like it’s the same apartment complex.

Okay, I can handle this.

It’s not like we’re on a date.
