"We might have to meddle again."

"You've been trying to talk me out of doing that for months, Kitten."

She grimaced."I know. It's technically her call... but we care about Jonah too."

"Speak for yourself."

She elbowed me in the gut, and I slipped a hand beneath her shirt, taking her bare hip. My pain eased, but mostly, I just wanted to feel her skin against mine.

"We would need a really good plan this time. Stalking doesn't cover it when they already spend so much time together,"Kat said.

"I have something brewing, but I need a little more time to talk my spellcaster into it."

"Of course you do."The smile she gave me was too appealing. I had to kiss her.

When she deepened it, I pulled away long enough to sweep my glare around the cafe.

"Don't scare my customers,"she said playfully.

"They come here in hopes that I'll show up and scare them."

"We've kind of trained them to expect a show, huh?"

I made a noise of agreement and kissed her again."I told Liv we'll pick her up on the way to the movie."

"Oh, good. The panic attack she had when she was driving the other day was brutal."

"She's been running more since then, but it's better to be safe than sorry."

"How much more can she take? She's already running a marathon every day."

"I don't know. If she gets her way, we'll probably find out."

Kat grimaced."How much longer do you need for the plan?"

"I'm not sure. Two or three months, at the most."

"That's not too bad. Should I ask what your spellcaster is doing?

"Probably not. It's better if Liv hates me for this instead of you."

Her lips curved. "I love you."

"Love is a weak word for my obsession with you, Kitten."I kissed her again."But I love you too."

"I know."She tilted her head against me, and I tucked an escaped curl into her wild bun.

This woman was everything to me.

Thank fuck for fate.
