She tipped her hips up to meet him. Needing him inside her, marking her, claiming her as she claimed him. With one smooth stroke he slid inside her and they started to move, driving each other on until the pleasure was so intense there was nowhere for it to go. Nothing to do but ride the wave as it rolled over them. The climax whipped through her and she wrapped her legs around his waist, anchoring her body to his, stroking his back as he came inside her.
JULIE SNUGGLED IN his arms, her hair still damp from their shower. The soap had washed away the last of the chocolate, but while they were under the hot spray with his hands moving over her body, he’d had to take her again. He could make love to her a handful of times every day, and he’d still never get enough of her.
That was it; he was done waiting.
Reaching under his pillow, he pulled out a small box. “I have something for you, too.”
“Hmm,” she murmured, sounding groggy and sated.
He set the velvet box on his chest in front of her face. “Open your eyes, Jules.”
He watched her eyelids flutter open and then widen when she saw the box.
“What is it?”
“It’s not a fish,” he said, smiling down at her lying on his chest.
Any nervousness he’d been feeling vanished now that they were actually at this place. It felt so right and he couldn’t help but be amazed that they gotten here so quickly or that it had taken so long considering when they first fell in love. Either way, holding Julie in his arms felt so good. She was his partner, his lover, and his whole world. She was the first thing he wanted to see when he woke up in the morning and the last thing he wanted to see when he closed his eyes at night.
“I know it might seem fast,” he said, flipping open the lid on the box to reveal a French cut platinum setting with rows of tiny diamonds framing a four carat square cushion cut center stone. “But I’ve loved you for ten years, and I don’t want to wait a minute longer. Julie Blake will you marry me?”
She struggled to prop herself up, tears flooding her eyes. The love he saw reflected there floored him and he couldn’t help but holder her tighter.
“Yes,” she said, nodding and blinking back tears. “Oh God, Eric yes.”
Grinning, he slipped the ring on her finger and then she was back in his arms where she belonged, and he was never going to let her go.
