“And what about…” He claimed her mouth with a soulful kiss. Only a few seconds passed before his arousal became apparent, and she was lifting her hips and assisting him in sliding her gown up around her waist.

Rather than move between her legs, however, her magnificent husband leaned back to rest on his heels in order to untie her bodice, which conveniently laced at the front. “I need to touch all of you,” he provided a most excellent explanation.

Felicity rose as well to begin unfastening the buttons of his waistcoat. She loved the way the curling hairs on his chest and legs felt against her skin.

One of the buttons had been skipped. “We really need to hire you a new valet,” she smiled. Cornell, a rather interesting gentleman’s gentleman, had remained in London to ensure the Jiu-Jitsu instruction on the docks continued uninterrupted. And in a surprising twist, Axel’s former instructor, Masaki, had agreed to run the school alongside the former valet.

“Perhaps,” Axel grinned. “But for now, I like it better when you undress me.”

She dragged her fingertips along his jaw, which, sported two more cuts from where he’d shaved himself. “You know how I feel about your scar, but many more, and I don’t think I’ll be able to look at you without swooning.” She lovingly pressed her lips to his ear.

“I’ll write to an agency tomorrow,” he laughed. But after he drew her gown over her head, he inhaled sharply, his eyes darkening.

She only wore half stays, of which, Felicity realized, most effectively pushed her bosom up as though on display. “I like this look on you.” Gripping her shoulders, he claimed one upturned nipple.

“Ah… I like that,” Felicity said as he drew her deeper into his mouth, his teeth grazing her sensitive skin. “Very much.”

At the same time, he’d reached one hand between her legs. He could be quite efficient that way.

Felicity unfastened his falls, and between the two of them, they managed to shove them down his muscled thighs. She was too impatient to even think of removing his boots and shirt, and he seemed perfectly happy with her partially clothed state.

Grasping her waist, Axel fell back on the bed, flipping her so she sat straddling his hips. “Ride me, love.” His hands covered her breasts now, kneading them, his gaze flicking back and forth from her face to where his hands worked.

Felicity pushed the tails out of her way. She was wet and she was ready. Preparing herself for his size, she inhaled and lowered herself onto him.

“So good,” she said, and they both sighed at the same time.

Axel paused and held her gaze. “You’re sure this won’t hurt the—?”

Not allowing him to finish the question, Felicity rotated her hips, something she’d learned he particularly enjoyed.

“Good then.” His hands gripped her hips, helping her along now.

“So good,” she repeated, holding his shoulders. She held his gaze, her hair hanging down so as to keep out everything in the world but the two of them. “I love you, Axel,” she whispered.

“I love you, love.” He thrust his hips off the bed, deepening their connection. This, she thought, was what was meant by the words:the two shall become one. Because every single time they made love, their bond became stronger—so much so that she experienced moments where she became a part of him, and he became a part of her.

Without having to think or guess, she matched her rhythm to his. Or perhaps he was matching to hers. It was simply, theirs.

Her husband never failed to bring her to completion, and in what might only have been a few minutes, she welcomed the primitive sensation that also felt as though it came from the heavens.

Axel paused, trailing his hands down her arms. “Ready?” He whispered, and at her nod, he began moving again.

“So beautiful,” Axel growled. Sometimes, all she required were a few words, and she would tense and shatter again. He stroked her skin with his hands, and at the same time, he stroked her from within. Felicity had tasted him a hundred times but would never get enough.

“My wife.” He clutched her closer. “Mine.”

“And you’re mine, husband,” she whispered. “Forever.”

A sharp slap on her behind, and the storm of her final release rained down. “Oh, hell,” Axel stiffened inside of her, and shaking and shuttering, she warmed at their shared pleasure.

A few minutes later, too tired to move, she snuggled into his chest, his body acting as her mattress.

“Do you know what?” She asked, feeling drowsy and content.

“What?” Axel roused enough to ask.

“I’m the luckiest lady in all of England.”

“And I,” he smoothed his hand down her back, “am the luckiest lord.”
