It is our anniversary after all. And what’s an anniversary without a little fun?

A light dusting of snow is falling from the sky, the wind blowing swirls of it across the road as I drive through town. It’s late, almost one in the morning, but this is the best time for what I have planned.

Throughout our year together, we’ve not even come close to getting enough of each other. I still long for him every minute we’re apart. Although we haven’t moved in together yet—something I’m looking to remedy soon— we spend every night we can together. And unbelievably, I’ve fallen even more in love with him.

Gabe has this way of making me feel special, cared for, and treasured. It doesn’t hurt that he consistently blows my mind in bed with his dirty words.

The words Christy said to me that night after our first pole dancing class constantly pop into my mind. “For the man you’re meant to be with, you’ll never be too much.” She must have known what she was talking about because she was so right. Gabe gives me space when I need it, supports me when I don’t ask, puts up with my insane whims, and never makes me feel like I’m too much.

And I’m about to make his year.

Pulling into the station parking lot, I send Gabe a text. We’ve been texting all night since it’s been really slow, and I know that he’s the only one up. Biting my lip, I dash across the pavement to the door, hugging my arms across my chest. There isn’t much I can do to keep my exposed legs warm, but they’ll be warm enough in a minute.

Thankfully, I don’t have to wait long before Gabe opens the door, stepping back to let me in. His expression is shocked and confused, but once his eyes glance up and down my body, a knowing grin spreads across his face.

“What are you up to?” he whispers. Strong hands wrap around my waist, pulling me closer to him as his lips brush against my exposed neck.

Breathing heavily, I whisper back, “I think you know, Bear.” God, his mouth. His tongue flicks out against my skin, nibbling as he makes his way down to my collarbones. “If you don’t stop that,” I gasp, “you won’t get your anniversary gift.”

“Sunny, you’re the best thing I could have ever asked for. You’re the only thing I want.”

“In that case,” I breathe, “let me show you how much I want you.”

And I do.
