“We wanted to surprise everyone. Besides, Ajei, Kate, and the others knew. They have the food planned and the post-wedding celebration,” he said nodding toward the tents.
“We thought it was just an after party for the parades,” laughed Priscilla.
“Well, technically I suppose it is but it’s for family only. This is our night. All of our night. Tonight we celebrate family, love, and one another. No bad guys. No missions. No guns. No kidnappers. Just us.”
“We love you, brother,” grinned River, hugging his brothers, then their wives in one big circle.
“Alright, enough tears,” laughed Willa. “Let’s celebrate!”
“Ohhh,” said Marilisa. “Look at that. Shep and Samantha holding hands. That’s kind of new.”
“She’s coming to work for us full-time once she’s ready,” said Willa. “Until then, she and Shep are finding one another. I love it for both of them. He’s a great guy and she’s a wonderful friend, nurse, and woman.”
“I love that too,” said Finn.
He looked around at the crowd, noticing that Brian was laughing with a group of people. But he also noticed that he was alone. It was just him.
“Who are you watching?” asked Willa.
“Brian. I feel kind of bad for him. He deserves to find someone.” Willa smiled up at him. “What?”
“I just never thought I’d hear you say that about Brian,” she smirked.
“He deserves someone special, just not you,” he grinned. “Come on. Let’s celebrate Mrs. Finnegan Jordan.”
“Let’s do this, Mr. Finnegan Jordan.”
