Her stomach did somersaults, and once they crossed the street, she jogged after the guy, leaving Caius behind as she called out to him. “Hey!”
He turned, and his messy hair and goofy grin made her heart stop. “Yeah?”
When she reached him, she ran a hand nervously through her hair. “I know you don’t remember me, but we’ve met before, and you promised we’d hang out. You never gave me your number.”
Turning to her fully, he crossed his arms with a smirk. “How do you know I don’t remember you?”
“What’s my name?” she challenged, mirroring his stance with a popped brow.
He narrowed his eyes at her and then laughed, shaking his head. “You got me.”
She stuck out her hand with a smile so big her cheeks hurt. “I’m Lo, and that’s my husband, Caius.” She jerked her thumb over her shoulder toward Caius as he approached.
The man looked at her mate’s bare arms and whistled. “Nice tats, man.” His gaze slid back to Rory, and he shook her outstretched hand with a smile. “I’m Asher.”

Caius thankedLora for the gift he’d been given as he stared at Rory. She looked exquisite in a black dress, and her blood-red lips had him coming apart at the seams for a simple kiss. He slipped the Umbra ring on her right middle finger and succumbed to his desires, pressing his lips to hers.
Her palm pressed against his chest, and when he leaned back, she slid a simple obsidian band on his finger. The swelling in his chest overwhelmed him, and he grabbed both sides of her neck to kiss her again.
She was his everything, and if anyone tried to take her from him, the realms wouldn’t survive him again.
“I have a gift for you,” she informed him with a coy smile and signaled for Bellina to hand her a package.
“You didn’t tell me we were exchanging gifts,” he replied, carefully taking the box from her.
“It’s nothing much. Just something that not even magic could make me forget.”
He bit back a smile and dropped his voice for only her to hear. “Is it your dress from our first Plenilune?”
She smacked him on the shoulder, making him laugh, and when he removed the wrapping paper and lifted the lid, the simple object within the box made him love her even more.
Reaching inside, he pulled out a red bowl.
