Fen’s did too. He already knew Kyrie’s orgasm would be his. He practically tasted the intensity. The insanity.

Kyrie exploded with a loud cry.

Fen coated the inside of his jeans with cum, reminding him he hadn’t removed a single piece of clothing. As Kyrie rode out his orgasm on Fen’s tongue, Fen fought for his life. The emotions choked him. Too many feelings pressed on him at once. This was really his. His body hummed in a way it never had before. Pleasure overtook his entire being. He shook from the way his cock wouldn’t stop spitting cum. He didn’t stop licking Kyrie’s dick until there wasn’t a single twitch left to pull from him.

Ragged breathing filled the air. Words clogged Fen’s throat. He had no clue how much of what he needed to say would make him sound like a lunatic. He had no choice.

Fen took a deep breath. “I—” A loud banging on the front door cut his words short. They froze. Fen focused his mind on the door. It was Waylon on the other side. He didn’t stop banging.

Fen stared down the line of his body. With his heightened senses, he smelled the cum all over them. There was no way a powerful pack leader like Waylon wouldn’t smell them too.

“It’s okay.” Kyrie gently untangled himself and quickly stripped away what was left of his clothing. “Hold on! I’m coming!”

Fen buried his face against the mattress and bit back his laughter at Kyrie’s choice of words to yell at the door.

In no time, Kyrie cleaned his skin with the discarded remnants of his shirt. He pulled on a robe before heading for the door. “Hey, Waylon. What’s up?”

Fen heard every word as if he, too, stood in the doorway.

“I saw Fen’s truck in the driveway. Leif didn’t show up for his shift.”

Fen jumped from the bed, completely forgetting his chaotic state. He was at Kyrie’s side in an instant. “What’s happened?”

There was no hiding the mess that he was, but Waylon never acknowledged his cum-soaked jeans or even dropped his gaze below eye level.

Waylon was in full sheriff’s mode. “I don’t know yet. Audor worked the early morning shift. Leif was supposed to come in by noon. He didn’t show. I know you’re in your honeymoon stageright now, but Audor can’t leave until someone relieves him and someone needs to find Leif.”

“I’ll head to Frost’s place. Fen should go after Leif. He’s better versed in vampire matters.”

Waylon glanced between them at Kyrie’s offer. It was beyond obvious he didn’t think Kyrie could protect Frost. Little did he know there was no one stronger in Wulfe.

Fen chimed in. “Kyrie can handle the job.” He held Waylon’s stare, silently demanding Waylon take the hint without an explanation.

Waylon looked between them again. His gaze finally stopped at holding Kyrie’s stare. Fen knew what he saw. Glowing yellow eyes with no true wolf traits. He gave a sharp nod. “I appreciate your help.”

Like that, their day was sidetracked. For all the reasons in the world, Fen wasn’t surprised. Nothing ever went his way.

Chapter Seven

ThevibeatFrost’shouse was weird. It was like everyone waited for the other shoe to drop on a completely unknown situation. No one really spoke. Kyrie felt several odd looks tossed his way. He stayed in wolf form and kept his thoughts hidden. Maybe he was only paranoid, but he swore every nearby vampire poked at his brain. Kyrie kept his nose to the air and avoided eye contact.

At the edge of the forest, Kyrie caught the scent of a bear. Kyrie glanced around, making sure no one watched before he slipped between the trees. The bear didn’t try to hide. In fact, he sat still, openly waiting for Kyrie. He was a big guy. His scent seemed familiar.

Kyrie turned human. “Have we met?”

The bear turned into a man Kyrie was certain he had seen before. “Aspen,” he said, as if reminding Kyrie of a name he should know. “We crossed paths briefly at Frost’s a while back.”

The memory hit. Aspen had crashed one of Frost’s barbecues. It had been the same night Fen had offered to run under the full moon with him. Kyrie dipped his chin. “Kyrie.”

Aspen’s sweet brown gaze moved over Kyrie’s face. “You’re the wolf mated to a vampire.”

This was the one in love with Leif. Kyrie’s heart went out to him. “I am. A pairing that seems to be growing around here.”

Pain crossed Aspen’s features and stabbed Kyrie in the chest. “Not for everyone, I guess.” He cleared his throat and moved on before Kyrie could think of anything comforting to say. “Is there any news on Leif? It’s not like him to shirk his duties. He’s always taken pride in his service to his goddess.”

Kyrie wouldn’t know. He hadn’t given much thought to the vampires who invaded the town since Frost’s arrival. “I’ve not heard anything yet. How can I help? How can I make this easier on you?”

A sweet smile passed over Aspen’s features. He was adorable. “My feelings don’t matter. I just need to know he’s safe.”
