She’ll marry that rich fuck, go back to her ivory tower, and that’ll be that.

Maybe I should’ve taken up Mel on her repeated offers.Perhaps that’s why this thing with Honey is bothering me so much. I just need to get laid.

I open the door to the hall and run right into the angry kitten herself. She bounces off me with an “oof”. I steady her before she falls on her ass. “You should look where you’re going, princess.”

She shoves her hair out of her face with a growl. “You’re the one who came out of nowhere.”

I laugh coldly, more pissed than I have any reason to be. “So I’m the problem here?” Even as I antagonize her, I can admit she’s fucking gorgeous. Her blonde hair hangs in wavy tendrils down her slender shoulders. She’s wearing a snug white t-shirt that makes her tits look amazing, a little flouncy skirt, and cowboy boots. Honey McAllister is a walking, talking wet dream. The very sight of her pisses me off.

Her jaw tightens. “I wish I could scrub every memory of you out of my mind. Is that clear enough for you, Beau Walker?”

Ouch. I rub my chest. “Careful with those claws. You could take out someone’s eye.” As I walk past her, I lean down to her ear. “But if you didn’t have me, then no one would’ve given you an orgasm, princess.”

She sucks in a breath. “You asshole.”

I smirk. “Never said I wasn’t.”

“What’s your problem? What have I ever done to you?”

Someone walks down the hall to the bathroom, and I take her arm and pull her to the back corner by the emergency exit. “My problem is that you were willing to give your virginity to any asshole at the Devil’s Den. And now you’re gonna marry some shithead your father picked so y’all can build your empire.”

Her nostrils flare, and she pokes me in the chest. “Has anyone ever told you it’s rude to eavesdrop?”

“Maybe you shouldn’t be sharing your life story in the back of a bar.”

“Fuck you.” She reaches up to slap me, and I catch her wrist.

Her chest heaves as she glares at me. I pull her closer, until I can smell her sweet perfume. “If you wanted me, princess, all you had to do was ask.” Leaning down, I run my nose against her temple. Her other hand clenches my t-shirt and yanks me closer. Being the asshole she thinks I am, I press her against the wall. Her eyes widen. “That’s right. You did this to me.” Pretty sure it’s hard to miss my erection wedged against her stomach.

When she doesn’t say anything, I turn her arm back behind her and drag her so we’re chest to chest. “Say the word, and I’ll let you go.”

Her breaths come in little pants as her tits press into me. “Don’t.”

“Don’t what?”

“Don’t let go.”

My heart is pounding so loudly, I can barely hear her. “You make me fucking crazy, Honey. Do you know that? All the fucking time. With that mouth of yours. And your sass. And your goddamn little smirk.”

She jams her other hand into my hair and pulls it taut. “Do you ever fucking shut up?”

And then she crashes my mouth into hers.

HONEY

With my heart pounding,I wrap my arms around Beau Walker’s broad shoulders, soaking up the heat he radiates like he’s made of fire. Our tongues duel as though we’re in a race to do this before we return to our senses.

The groan that rumbles in his chest makes me desperate to get closer, and I hike my leg up his thigh. He reaches down and yanks me higher.

Someone laughs in the bar, and he curses under his breath, then turns to me. “Are we really doing this?”

Panting, I give him the stink-eye. “If I have to explain what’s going on here, then…”

His warm laugh—so different than the one he gave me a few minutes ago—feels like we’re sharing a secret. “Come on, princess.” The man hoists me higher in his arms and bolts out the back door. “My truck or yours?”

“I have an SUV.” I bite my bottom lip, embarrassed to be making this admission. “There’s, uh, there’s room in the back.”For sex, Honey. You’re going to have sex. With Beau Walker.
