I hadn’t gotten that yet.

But I’d gotten so much more than I could ever have wanted. I’d go through all the hard stuff again to end up right here.

As if hearing my thoughts, Akiva was the first to appear at my side. I reached down to scratch behind her ears.

Then I sensed him before I felt him. Ramsay’s chest pressed to my back as he slid his arms around my waist, pulling me into him.

I covered his arms with mine and snuggled against this strong, resilient Scot who had given me everything I never knew I needed.

“Is London all right?” His voice rumbled in my ear, making me shiver.

“She will be. I think this place is slowly healing her. Like it did me.”

“Good.” He kissed my cheek, his beard tickling my skin.

“Youhealed me.”

Ramsay’s breath caught behind me.

“I know you feel guilty about Ian. About a lot of things. But you healed me. I wouldn’t change a thing, as long as I ended up right here with you.”

His hold on me tightened as he nestled his chin against my temple. “Then we did that for each other. I can’t even … I can’t contemplate what my life would be like if you hadn’t shown up. Fucking empty, that’s what.” He exhaled shakily.

“I think this place drew me here to find you.”

“Aye.” The word was a rasp of deep emotion.

“Let’s stay here forever.”

“I can live with that.” He kissed the side of my head. “Though I’d follow you anywhere, woman.”

I smiled, chest aching with love, and a little smugness. “No following required. We’re not leaving. Ever.”

We stood in peaceful silence for a few minutes, watching the sun set over Half-Light Harbor. As Ramsay murmured into my ear that he loved me, I told him I loved him too. And then I made a wish.

I wished for London to find what I’d found here.

I wished the same for Quinn and for Cammie and for Taran.

And I wished for them to find it without the carnage and drama I’d had to go through to find Ramsay.

Well, as long as the love part came true, I could leave it up to fate to figure out how the rest should play out.
