Just him and me.

“Get on your knees, baby. Let me show you how badly I crave your beautiful body.”

I immediately submit, eager to get what I’ve needed all this time. It’s been years since I’ve felt this kind of intimacy, and I’m craving it so badly. I cravehistouch more than anything.

He looks down at me, his gaze making me feel vulnerable in a way I’ve never felt before. I’ve never been this type of woman—submissive, eager.

But fuck, there’s nothing else I’d rather be doing right now.

He pats my head softly. “You want your master to ruin this pretty little mouth of yours?”

I nod eagerly, looking up at him, unsure and yet excited of what’s next.

“Good girl. Exactly like that. Take my pants off.”

I quickly obey, eager for him to take control of me. But right then, as I’m about to show him the most vulnerable side of me, the door slams open, crashing against the wall.

Fuckkkk.

Daniel instantly grabs his weapon, aiming it toward the door, ready to kill.

Ready to destroy whoever ruined this moment of ours.

I jump, my back hitting the bookshelf, my heart racing.

But it’s not death staring us down as I expected based on Daniel’s reaction—it’sJulian.

That fucking bastard.

Julian grins at us. “My bad, sorry for interrupting.” He looks right at me and winks, making me feel more uncomfortable than ever.

Daniel lowers his gun, muttering something under his breath. I’m pretty sure it’s something along the lines of “piece of shit.”

“What the hell do you want, Julian? You know there’s something called knocking? Use your brain for once.”

“The boss is calling for a meeting.”

Daniel tenses, his muscles tight as a wire. “Coming,” is all he says before walking back to his desk and grabbing a couple of files.

Julian is already gone by the time Daniel grabs my arm, dragging me with him.

I barely keep up. “Where are you taking me?” I ask.

He doesn’t slow down. “The meeting.”

My mouth drops open. “But... You said you’d keep me out of everything!”

He stops suddenly and turns, resulting to me crashing into his chest, confused.

“Alright, listen, pretty,” he inhales deeply, his voice low and serious.

“First of all, you’re our nurse. Everyone who works for us attends our meetings. Second, if youtrulywant to be mine...”

His voice drops to a whisper, making sure no one hears him.

“I need to be completely transparent with you. Both my mother and sister don’t work for us, but you do. And they’ve always known what our family does—drugs, weapons, killing people if they don’t pay up.”

I gulp, shocked at his words. “What are you talking about?”
