“Of course, you can,” he answers for me. “Mommy and daddy will have a sleepover tonight as well.”
Mary furrows her brow. “But you always sleep together. You always have a sleepover.”
Daniel wants to say something, but his mouth closes again. I grin. “She’s right.”
“Yeah…” He laughs. “Technically, yes.”
Mary giggles. “Daddy?”
“Something wrong, sweetheart?” He lets go of my hand to kneel down, looking at her. She just smiles before throwing himself at him, the both of them holding each other.
“I love that you’re my daddy now! You’re the best daddy ever!”
“I love being your dad, my little girl.”
He kisses her forehead before she runs away again, probably to tell Vicky and Enzo the good news.
I just sigh dreamily, looking at the man I got married to. Jesus. I’m never getting over him.
“Are you alright, wifey?”
Fuck me. Fuck me. Fuck me.
“Yes. I just feel the need to tell you that I love you. So, so much.” Both of us share eye contact.
Take this dress off me, rip it off, push me onto your bed and—
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking you’re thinking?”
“Don’t make it complicated. Watching you like that with her?” I sigh dreamily. “I think we might need another baby.”
“Do we, huh?” He grins up at me. “We got plenty of time tonight, pretty.”
“Do we?” I giggle before kissing him. “Just a few more hours. Then I can finally get out of this dress.”
“You don’t like it?”
“Trust me, I love it. But my feet are dead from the shoes and don’t even get me started on my waist and chest.” I exhale dramatically. “Getting out of this masterpiece will feel like heaven on earth.”
“Gettingintothis masterpiece will feel like heaven on earth as well.”
“Which masterpiece—Oh.”
“Oh.” He smirks at me.
Chapter Fifty-nine
Daniel
The drive home feels like hell. Not because of traffic, or the distance—shit, I could drive through a war zone and still keep my cool. But because my wife—fuck, that feels so good to say—is sitting beside me, looking like sin wrapped in satin, and she’s getting impatient.
Did I overdo it with the dress? Maybe, yeah.
But I wanted her to have luxury. To feel like a goddess walking down that aisle. And she said she loved it, she said it made her feel like aqueen.
She mentioned it a dozen times throughout the night.
Until she’d had a few shots, Andrew and Yuri took the kids home, and the party started winding down slowly as well.
