Looking up, Ellory seemed frustrated.

“What’s up?” Addison asked.

In response, Ellory sighed. “He won’t stop.”

Addison’s belly clenched. She knew who “he” was. “Did you tell him you were busy?”

“Yeah. He just tried to make me feel guilty.”

Addison held out her hand. “Let me see, honey.”

Ellory: Hanging out

Brady: I’d love to see you again.

Ellory: Yeah

Brady: So when? What about this weekend?

Ellory: I have a play

Brady: Can I come watch?

Ellory: I don’t think you’d like it. I’m not IN the play, just doing the lights

Brady: Oh yeah. How about lunch?

Ellory: I’m fasting right now

Brady: So when? Come on, El. I’m trying here.

Ellory: IDK I have to talk to my mom

Brady: If you don’t want to, just come out and say it. I mean, I’m trying really hard to have a relationship with my daughter and it doesn’t seem as if you’re all that into it. Is your SEAL dad enough for you? You don’t need your REAL dad?

Ellory: I didn’t say that I just don’t know
