Tossing the controller next to me, I hunt for Aiden. He stands in the doorway to the armory, his body blocking it from view. Footsteps thump behind me, and the other three guys all crowd at my back.
Okay…what?
“Uh…what’s happening?”
“It’s not finished yet, but I figured tonight was as good as any for you to see the progress we’ve made.” Aiden steps back, the door falling open behind him and giving me room to look inside.
The lockers and cabinets that once covered the walls are gone, painted over in a dark, moody gray. One of the walls is gone, replaced by two glass doors surrounded by windows to overlook the city. A small, private balcony waits beyond the doors with a pergola strung with vines and fairy lights.
There’s a small sitting area by the windows. A cozy circular chair that could fit multiple people sits in front of a small rectangular fireplace and television. The floor itself is covered in a plush, luxurious-looking carpet that begs to be touched.
The bed is…well, it’s massive, taking up half of the room in its width. Four posts rise just shy of the ceiling, draped with creamy gauze sheets that fall like waves. Vines curl around the posts, intertwining with more fairy lights that hang like stars, surrounding a mountain of pillows.
There’s a door to the far right that I don’t remember being there before.
“That’s where your private bathroom will be,” Aiden says when he sees me looking at it. “It’s still in the demolition and plumbing stages.”
I scan the room again, stunned.
“It’s beautiful,” I breathe. Amazing. Stunning. Unbelievable. A simple room was somehow converted into a private oasis, unlike anything I could have ever imagined. “All this…is for me?”
“If you want it.”
Scoffing, I shake my head. How could anyonenotwant something like this? “Can I go inside?”
Aiden steps further into the room, and I follow.
Bending to the floor, I run my hand through the carpet as I’d been itching to do. So, so soft.
“It’s water-resistant and shouldn’t stain easily,” Aiden comments.
Kellan throws himself on the bed, arms and legs wide, and still, there’s room on either side of him. “This is what I’m talking about for a bed. And it’s hella comfortable.”
Dane smacks his leg. “Get off before you break it.”
Kell laughs, rolling to his side. “Didn’t Aiden tell you? He custom-ordered this bad boy. For its sizeanddurability. I could jump on it, and it wouldn’t break. Isn’t that right, Aiden?”
Aiden pins him with a look. “Don’t jump on it.”
I’d laugh if I wasn’t so overwhelmed by everything. Running my hand along one of the posts, I dip over carved grooves. When I look at Aiden, his gaze is heated, and I swallow my question down, a flush of warmth crawling up my neck.
He shifts behind me, crooning in my ear, “There are more surprises in store for you here, but wait until it’s finished before you start looking.”
A shiver of pleasure rolls down my spine, goosebumps scattering along my skin.
“Fuck! The pasta!” Dane dashes from the room.
Jackson fingers a string of lights, smirking.
If I’m going to eat Dane’s homemade pasta, I need to get out ofthis room. While it looks cozy and warm on the surface, it’s equally sensual. And having Kellan, Jackson, and Aiden giving me individual licentious looks the longer I’m in here means I have seconds to escape while my mind’s still clear.
I practically run from the room, and I don’t stop until I’m in the kitchen.
Kellan cackles from the bedroom, but three sets of steps let me know they’re leaving it.
“We scare you away, beautiful?” he taunts.
“Dinner’s almost ready,” I snark back, jabbing him in the chest. “I’ve been looking forward to this for a while.”
