“No, of course not. I think it’s great that you two have become friends.”
“Okay, so I’ll tell him we can come?”
“Definitely.”
“Great.”
“And then maybe when we get home, we can revisit those other plans I was talking about.”
Liam threw his head back and laughed and when Eve joined in, it occurred to him that he had laughed more in the last few weeks than he had in his entire life. Not only had she given him laughter, but she’d also given him love, acceptance, home, a family, and friends. Everything he had always wanted.
He had no idea how he’d gotten so lucky, but he intended to spend the rest of their long lives together showing her just how grateful he was.
