The three of us are quiet and subdued on the ride, all of us lost in our thoughts and probably too damn tired to attempt conversation.

“Hey, this isn't the way to the port,” Jacinta says, her nose pressed to the window. “Where are we going?”

Jaxon knocks on the privacy screen that separates us from the driver. “Hey, excuse me, you're going the wrong way.”

Suddenly, the locks on the doors snap down, and smoke starts to pour into the area where we’re seated.

”What the fuck? Is the car on fire?” Jacinta’s screams are the last thing I can clearly make out before I feel light headed and my eyes start to droop. Jaxon and Jacinta both stop fighting and slump down too. I’m struggling to hold my eyes open as the partition drops, giving me a glimpse of the driver in the rearview mirror. Eyes that are all too familiar look back at me.

“You!” I gasp, then all I see is blackness.
