Her eyes widened when she caught sight of the box perched in my palm.

“The first time we were together it was the best goddamn two weeks of my life. When you disappeared, it gutted me and I realized—too fucking late—that you mattered to me.” I always figured if this moment ever came that I’d be a mess, but my heartbeat was steady. I was calm.

“Falcon,” she whispered, her voice thick with emotion and her eyes welled with tears.

I pushed her hair from her face. “When you came back with TJ, I was angry and confused, but even then, I loved you. I just didn’t realize it yet. Now I know that I loved you through it all. You, Viv, you’re my fucking heart. My partner. My other half. Fuck that, my better half. You’re the one who I want to face everything with. Every high. Every low. Every fucking thing until we draw our last breath.”

Tears streaked down her cheeks, her lips trembled as she waited for the big ask.

I opened the box, and she gasped through her tears. “Vivian, sweetheart, will you jump on this crazy fucking ride with me and be my bride? My everything?”

She let out another gasp, but it was interrupted by a loud, sharp laugh. She nodded hard and fast. “Falcon, oh my god. Yes. Holy shit, yes, I’ll marry you. Yes! Yes!”

I slid the ring onto her finger, kissing the ring and then her finger. And her other fingers. Her wrist. Eventually I was too greedy and found her mouth, claiming her in a deep, hungry kiss. I claimed her again and again until I needed air.

And to see her beautiful face.

“Falcon, we’re getting married!” the pure joy shining in her eyes at that moment hit me unexpectedly. Her smile was so wide and tugged at something deep in me. I couldn’t name it but leaned into it, reveled in it and in being with her.

“The sooner the better,” I grunted, thrusting into her again, slow and deep until we were both breathless and spent all over again.

This was it. The life I never fucking thought I’d have.

And it was just the beginning.

The clubhouse buzzed with music and laughter when Viv and I walked in later that night. Beer bottles clinked, shot glasses slammed down on tables and my brothers grunted their joy. Voices carried in the air and mingled with the loud rock music. “Hey fuckers,” I shouted over the music.

A few of the guys looked up but the music was too loud to be heard.

Viv unwrapped her body from mine and went over to the bar where the controls for the music were and turned it down.

“Hey!” Rocky shouted, finished his shot and sent a frown at Viv. “What’s going on?”

“I have something I want to tell you fuckers,” I said, holding my arm out until Viv filled the empty space again. Her body curled against mine, her left hand resting on my chest. “I asked Viv to marry me. She said yes!”

As expected, cheers went up around the room. My brothers and their women slowly made their way to us, offering up handshakes, hugs and words of congratulations. It was a lot, but seeing everyone so happy for me felt good. Knowing the long path it took me and Viv to get here, made every moment worth it.

“You move quick,” Vandal joked, smacking me on the back. “Happy for you man. Haven’t seen you smile like this in too fucking long.”

“Thanks, brother. I’m just happy she said yes.” I knew she loved me, but hitching herself to a biker for the rest of eternity was a lot to ask. She fucking said yes!”

“You boys are falling like dominoes,” he said with a laugh and clapped me on my back again.

My gaze scanned the room until I spotted Viv, she was laughing with Peyton and Raven, her hand absently rested over her stomach a few times before she remembered the pregnancy was still a secret. TJ ran around with the other kids, Chopper hot on their tail. His laughter rang out over the music.

Everything was perfect.

Exactly how it should be.

Our gazes collided and Viv smiled at me, soft and full of love. Looking at her always made everything feel right and good, and as perfect as this fucked up world would allow.

Yeah, I could get used to this kind of peace.
