It was a pleasant tune that made me immediately stop fighting as my eyes started to droop. I was turned around, facing the fae leader, as I heard the guys in the distance yelling for me. So this was his magic. His singing, effectively putting people out faster than a chokehold. I could feel him lift me up and throw me over his shoulder as he continued his song and I was getting more and more sleepy.
The guys’ desperate screaming in the background was getting farther and farther away. I felt the fae shift as he whistled for the other fae to follow him. He patted my bottom as he said, “Garthum netasha.”My prize for my strength.
I was starting to fade fast, reminding myself that I just needed to buy some time, make sure that I found the right opportunity when I awoke. I needed to escape. I will escape. It's what I was trained for.
They could torture me, beat me, play with my mind with their magic and it wouldn't affect me. Wouldn’t phase me, but take those boys from me and hurt them, I would’ve given away all of my secrets to help them.
I mumbled sleepily under my breath, “Where are you taking me?”
I was surprised when he said in human tongue, “Home.” So, I guess I was going to be trapped in the fae lands when I awoke.
Last thing I heard before it all got dark was Ajax bellowing in a pain and rage I’ve never heard before, “We will find you! I promise we won't stop until we have you back!”
To be continued…
