"I'm changing the channel a bit, but remember we have all night." I laid my chin on his chest and looked up at him. "I'm not what your mother wants for you. I saw that in her eyes. Will it be a problem?"
Kofi laid a hand on my back, his fingers moving across my skin with lazy strokes.
"She may be disappointed, but she'll get over it. I love you. She knows that, and as long as I'm happy, Mama will be fine."
"Okay, I'm good now 'cause ... um ... " My words slurred and stopped as Kofi moved his fingers lower, pulling a gasp from my lips.
"That's right." His words rolled over me—sweet, slow and sexy. "We can figure everything out later, my sweet."
I yelled as he found my sweet spot. "Whatever you say."
Kofi laughed and then went silent as our lips met in a heady kiss. I let my worries drift away. Everything, but this man and this moment, was secondary.
Though Kofi and I were from different worlds, we fit together in all the ways that mattered. Wherever our future led would be all right with me.
