“The best day of my life.”
That’s all I need to hear. I lean over and pull her in for a long kiss as the room full of diners clap again including my family.
I have to force myself to stop kissing her though, or this thing could quickly turn R-rated.
“That was very K-Drama worthy,” Linda says approvingly. “Good job, Freak. Welcome to the family, Willow. I look forward to getting to know the woman who discovered that my brother has a brain.”
“Oh shush,” my mom says as everyone at the table throws a clean napkin at Linda’s head.
Penny’s not working tonight, so a different server brings us our meals. “You two are so cute,” she says to me and Willow. “You should start your own YouTube or TikTok channel.”
“Yeah, we are cute, aren’t we?”
Willow inspects my plate of southern deliciousness and her sad little piece of wild salmon over rice.
“I guess I could try a small piece of your ham,” she says coyly.
“Now this is a Christmas miracle!”
