“You have a baby in your arms,” she whispers a beat later.

“Jealous?”

“Duh.”

I nip her bottom lip. “I’m all yours.”

“Let me free you from my daughter’s clutches,” Ivy says, almost apologetically.

“I didn’t mind. I’ll take baby cuddles any day.”

Ivy grins at me while scooping her daughter into her arms and adjusting her so her cheek meets her collarbone. There’s a moment where she just stares down at her in bewilderment before blinking and offering me a thankful smile.

It’s not the first time I’ve seen her do that. Even at the office when Niko brings Junie in for a quick meeting with her mom, there will be long, silent minutes where the three of them just sit together and smile amongst themselves, as if they can’t believe this is their life.

“Junie likes you, Gray. That’s bonus points in my book.”

Jill takes the now empty place on my lap and curls into my chest, releasing a long, happy exhale. I run my fingers up her spine, relishing in the way she shivers with every pass.

“She’s easy to impress,” I murmur.

Ivy laughs softly. “Yeah, you’re right.”

Walking back into her husband’s arms, she leaves Jill and me alone. I take advantage of the moment and brush my lips across her crown, inhaling.

“Merry Christmas Eve, baby.”

My forever nuzzles her face into my throat and reaches a hand up to cup my jaw, guiding my face down so our eyes meet. “Ditto, Gray. I love you.”

“Aren’t you happy you faked a chance on me all those months ago?” I tease lowly, bumping our noses.

The gleam in her eyes twists me up inside. Yeah, I think I know her answer.

Duh.
