I’m thankful he flops next to me and not on top of me. He runs a hand over my ass. “Are you okay?”

I nod and snuggle close without shifting my ass. I’m not fond of everything dripping out. Clay chuckles and grabs the body wipes from the nightstand to clean me up. I let him move me however he wants until he’s satisfied everything is all cleaned up.

“I’m so glad you’re mine, Milo.” He kisses my shoulder. “I’m going to be the best Daddy and partner.”

“You don’t have to be the best. You just have to be Clay.”

“And you just have to be Milo.” Another kiss and we pass out in each other’s arms. What a way to start the new year.

Epilogue

CLAY — 1 YEAR LATER

I thinkChristmas is the best time of the year. Not only did it bring me Milo, but I have a huge family now between my sister and her new beau, Izzy and her partner, Milo and all the guys at Doyle’s Dandy Books. I don’t know what I did to deserve this, but I’m happy to have it.

Milo’s wearing his dinosaur footie pajamas and playing with his dinosaurs contently while I edit a reel for tomorrow. At least that’s what he thinks I’m doing. I love this beautiful man. My perfect partner. Sure, he’s a tiny bit of a brat sometimes, but I love him even more for it. We talk and build our future together. We’re looking to buy a house where we can have a playroom big enough for everything I want to spoil him with. He says he doesn’t need anything else, and I believe him, but it’s what I do.

“Milo.”

“Yes, Daddy?” He blinks up at me so sweetly.

“Would you mind being Big for me? Just for a little bit?”

“Okay, Daddy. Give me a few minutes. I’ll be Big.” He gathers his toys and gently puts them back into the toy box. When he’s done, he changes into something else, then splashes his face with some water. “Are you okay?” He asks as he sits next to me on the couch.

“I am. I just wanted your opinion on something first.” I hand him my phone and he presses play. The video is so cheesy. It starts with a slide show of both of us being cute in each other’s insta reels. The video Rory took at the Christmas tree farm last year plays, and he absolutely caught what he’d said to me. Milo sucks in a breath. Then video me says: “What if we had a permanent collab?” Video me holds out a ring box at the same time I slide to one knee and present him with the same box. “Milo, will you marry me?”

He looks from the video to me and back before he squeals and slides off the couch to hug me. “Yes. Yes. So much yes!”

I let out the breath I was holding for his answer and open the box.

“Oh em gee, Daddy! It’s beautiful.” He holds out his hand and I slide the ring on. It’s a simple band with jewels in the rainbow colors. He deserves all the colors in his world. He’s made my life full of light and happiness I hadn’t realized I’d been missing. This sweet man that loves me, my family, and just about everyone he meets. This man that felt so unloved and defective. This man that’s such a gem.

“I hope you know how much I adore you, sweetheart. You’ve colored every part of my world with your love.”

Tears fill his eyes. “You’re the amazing one, Daddy. Clay. Thank you for giving me a chance.”

“Sweetheart, it was easy to love you.”

The End.
