“Do you think so? Sula, you stay in five-star hotels all over the world for work.” His voice is laden with doubt.

“And not one of them has a single bit of charm. This reminds me of my place in Dublin.”

Dropping me to my feet, Arek hooks an arm around my shoulders. “Does it really?”

In the months since we started dating, the intense passion that began that first night in Vegas has exploded into something we both take one day at a time.

I’ve learned Arek keeps his home base in New York; he knows mine is in Dublin. “And it’s so much better than our corporate office in London.”

“Do you hate it there?”

“Despise it.”

“Then why work for them?”

I opened my mouth to tell him, “Because my father won’t have it any other way,” but I barely refrained. Arek knows me as Ursula Moore, not the daughter of West Moore, multi-billionaire software giant. For now, I want to keep it that way.

Just a little longer.

I point to the fireplace, the very first thing I noticed because the antique brick is almost a replica of mine. “Does it work?”

“No, it’s against code.”

“Well, that’s a tragedy.” I’m lured over to a wall of exposed brick. “This is quite lovely, but I’m concerned as to why you don’t have any art on the walls. Didn’t you say you’ve lived here for ten years?”

His lips twitch a bit.

“What’s so funny?” I demand. I’ve learned to read certain expressions of Arek’s despite the number of days we’ve spent apart.

“Who would have ever believed a woman likely on a first-name basis with her hotel concierges would have an appreciation for fireplaces and historic brick.”

A sigh escapes my lips before I can stop it.

Arek shakes me to get my attention. “What was that for?”

“You said the brick was historic,” I say wistfully.

He roars with laughter before scooping me up in his arms. “Are you a closet HGTV fanatic?”

“Yes. Absolutely.House Hunters Internationalis one of my favorite shows.”

He’s still chuckling as he crosses the threshold to his room and lightly tosses me onto the bed. Following me down, he crawls up my body before caging me in between his arms. “Sweetheart?”

“Yes?” Is that my voice that sounds so breathless?

The look he sends me is so incendiary if I’d been wearing panties, they’d have melted. “Don’t expect to catch an episode while you’re here.”

I don’t even have the chance to agree or argue before his lips come down on mine, which is just fine because watching the telly is something to keep my thoughts at bay when I’m not with Arek.

There’s only one thing I need to be satisfied when he’s nearby.

Him.

CHAPTERFOUR

I drove by a chapel today and saw bride in an Emily Freeman design. In my fantasies, I’ll be wearing one of her stunning gowns when I walk down the aisle.

The reality is all I need at my wedding is the person of my dreams. The rest is superfluous.
