We arrive at the sky-rise and true to his word three men assist Matt and Sheldon in clearing a path as we enter the building. Chase guides me into the condo, his hand on the small of my back. The paparazzi have brought all the uncertainty, doubt and questions in my mind to the forefront. I’m exhausted, feeling emotional, and my shoulder is starting to hurt.
“I’m going to lie down for a little while,” I say as we enter the condo.
“Do you want lunch first? You didn’t eat much for breakfast.”
“I’m really not hungry right now, Chase.”
“At least take your medicine,” he says, opening the medication bottle and pouring me a glass of water.
“I’m too tired to stay awake any longer,” I say, swallowing the pill as I head toward the bedroom. I let my skirt fall to the floor and crawl into bed with my shirt still on. I can’t get the paparazzi’s questions out of my head.Do I want to know the truth? Can I give him up if it’s true?I can’t get my mom’s confession about my dad and the fact she never stopped loving him out of my head. The pain medication and emotions of the day are too much and I feel the tears trickle down my face as I think about Chase. The depth of my feelings for him scares me and I can’t help but think of him as I fall into a medicinal and exhaustive sleep.
When I wake, it is dark and I try to make out the time on the clock. It’s almost midnight. He is sleeping next to me and I try not to wake him as I get out of bed. I make my way into the kitchen to take my medicine. I am starving and find turkey and Havarti cheese in the refrigerator and make myself a sandwich. I spy my Mac and decide to eat at his desk, enjoying the view of bright city lights overlooking the magnificent sky-rises as I catch up on email. I sign onto my work account and sigh at the amount in my inbox and start replying to some of it in an attempt to keep my mind busy. As soon as I hit the send button, I receive a response.

I feel him before I see him. He is comfortable with his nakedness. The sinewy muscles in his body are mesmerizing, and the city lights provide just enough light to discern the cuts on his thighs, arms and rippled abdomen muscles. He is hard and erect and I feel myself moisten as he approaches. He moves the laptop and my plate to the other side of the desk.
“I think you’re in my seat,” he says, lifting me by the waist from his chair onto the desk, as he takes his seat and gently pushes my legs apart. “I love the lace against the softness of your skin and the way you smell,” he says, rubbing his nose against my clit through my panties, deeply inhaling. He opens the drawer to his desk and pulls out a pair of scissors. “Trust me, Baby?” he asks, watching me intently, lifting the sides of my panties from my skin before sliding the scissors along the silk, cutting the delicate material on each side. He pulls the material downward leaving me completely exposed to him, blowing gently on my heated skin. His breath is intoxicating. “This is a much better view,” he says, running his fingers through the soft hair, exploring, easily finding my clit and circling it with his thumb. I moan. “Still, Baby,” he says, grasping my hips and pulling me closer.
