“No I don’t. And he was really mad at you. He wanted you all to himself and you kept sharing your cooch with everyone.” She gestured toward my lap. She was clearly trying to change the subject because she knew I was suspicious of her. And she was starting to sweat profusely. Girl definitely had a secret she was keeping from me.

I just stared at her. “He clearly forgave me.”

“I don’t think so.”

I laughed. “He obviously did.”

“Mhm.” Her voice squeaked awkwardly as sweat dripped from her brow.

Okay, enough.I wanted to know what she’d been about to say earlier. Besides, if I didn’t intervene she was going to turn into a puddle. And there was only one way to get the truth out of her…

I walked over to the minibar, but there was no banana juice.

Damn it!

I slammed the door shut. I was going to have to talk to shmoopie poo about his liquor selection on his private jet. This was unacceptable.

Luckily, though, I always followed the updated version of Single Girl Rule #5: Have banana juice in your purse at all times.

I pulled my flask out of my purse and handed it to Ash.

“No way,” said Ash, shaking her head. “I obviously can’t be trusted when I’ve had banana juice.”

“But…it’s my wedding day. So you have to!”

“That’s not one of the single girl rules. And anyway. I’m a married girl now. So I have…not to follow those crazy rules anymore.”

That was a weird way to phrase that.

“Please?” I asked.

“No.”

“Then I guess you’ll never know who took your virginity.” I sighed. “Which is a real shame. You would freak the fuck out if you knew who took it.”

“I’m not falling for this again. You’re just going to tell me some long ass story about me drinking banana juice and blowing a bunch of dudes. And then I’m not gonna lose my V-card. I’m pretty sure you’re just fucking with me and I never actually had sex with anyone before I got married.”

I stared at her. “Girl…”

“Girl,” she replied.

“You were definitely not a virgin when you got married.”

“Then tell me the real story!”

I pushed the flask of banana juice across the table.

“Gah, fine. But this better be good!” She grabbed the flask and took a big swig.

By the time I finished this story, she’d be drunk enough to tell me whatever weird secret she was keeping. “Okay, so…three months later…”

“Three months? What happened during the rest of our first semester of college?”

“Very little, really. You hardly left our dorm all semester. You had this very odd paranoia about being kidnapped. Whichis strange to me now since you clearly didn’t remember it happening.”

“Damn it, Chastity! Why didn’t you just start three months into the story if that’s when I lost my virginity?”

“Because backstory is important. I had to show your character development.”

“What character development?!” asked Ash. “My entire character in this story is that I love sucking dick.”

“Exactly. And you didn’t know it before. You just assumed it was a new development once you met your husband. But you’ve always loved that D.” I went to give her a high five.

And since she’d had a sip of banana-juice…she happily high fived me back.

“Now tell me the story,” she said. “And make sure you cut to the good part, because I’m not getting off this plane until I know who took my V-card. I don’t care if it makes me late to your wedding.” She shifted uncomfortably.

“I don’t believe that for one second,” I said. “I can see you already sweating again at the thought of being late. But I promise this’ll be quick. It all started a couple days before Christmas when I invited you to a ski resort for the annual meeting of the families…”
