Shaking her head, she rolled her eyes and grabbed what she wanted off the dresser. Breath catching in his lungs, his heart clutched at the sight of what she held in her hand. When she reached him, he sat up straighter and created a space between his thighs. She settled herself between his legs, wordlessly giving him the brush over her shoulder.

Holy shit.Poleaxed, Chase accepted the offering and recognized the gesture for what it was. Gray’s way of admitting she belonged to him. His pulse quickened, but his soul settled. Tak would remain an open wound until they found him and brought him home.

In the meantime, he had Grace Grayson—body, heart, and soul.

“Have I told you today how much I love you?”

“I love you too.”

The first time she’d ever said those words to him, Chase stilled, soaking them in. Clueless as to how much she’d affected him, she spurred him on by slapping the outside of his thigh. “Snap out of it, Chase. You owe me a story.” She left her hand where it landed, and it molded to the shape of his leg and traveled down the length of his thigh, strong, steady, and possessive.

She tipped her head back, her tangled brown mane reaching almost to his lap, and grinning like a fool, he cleared the lump in his throat. “Ah, where was I?” Silky strands in hand, he started teasing the knots out at the bottom.

Gray eyed him over her shoulder, pegging him with a look that, if he’d been standing, would have brought him to his knees, and smiling wickedly, she leaned back and kissed him soft and slow. “You’re at the start of something bigger.”
