Ozzie stretches. “We should head out.”

“Okay,” Brian says. “It might be a couple of hours, but we’ll be back.”

I nod. “Good luck.”

They leave, and I turn my attention to Delaney. She’s leaning against the wall of the barn.

“Are you in a lot of pain?” I ask.

She shakes her head. “No. I’m sorry. If we get caught because of my clumsiness…” She turns her face away from me.

Tucking my finger under her chin, I turn her back to me. “You have nothing to be sorry for. Shit happens.”

“Well, a lot of shit has been happening lately. You know I never saw you in action before.”

I tilt my head. “In action?”

Her hand goes to my chest, and just the slightest touch from her sets me on fire.

“All soldiery.”

I raise my brow. “We’ve been over this. Sailor, not soldier. And I don’t think that’s a word.”

Her gaze turns heated. “Let me rephrase. All sexy and strong.” She grabs my shirt and pulls me to her.

Our lips meet, and it goes from a soft kiss to an inferno in seconds. Her hand moves up my back under my shirt, and without thinking, I pull it off. Her eyes widen, and she smiles.

“Damn, Logan,” she says as she traces the lines of my abs. “I could stare at you all day.”

I chuckle as I lay my shirt on the ground, then she leans back on it. I climb over her as she spreads her legs. As I kiss her, I press into her center. Even with both of us wearing pants, I can feel her heat. Her nails run down my back, and I moan. Damn, I forgot how good this woman feels.

“Logan, I want you now.”

“I want you, too, but…” I look up toward where I was keeping watch.

“No one will think we’re hiding in this random barn,” she says.

She does have a point. I turn my attention back to her as I reach into my back pocket and realize I don’t have a wallet or condom because we are in a barn running from someone who is trying to kill us. I rock back onto my knees.

“Don’t,” she says as she props herself up on her elbows.

“Don’t what?”

“Get in your head.”

I sigh. “I don’t have a condom, and someone could walk in.”

She reaches for my belt. “First, I’m on birth control and I’m safe. Second, we might not survive this day, and I will regret it if I’m not with you right now.”

I’m stunned by her words. “You sure about not using anything?”

“Very. Not get these damn pants off!”

I stand and remove them. She disrobes from a sitting position, then lies back on my shirt.

“That can’t be comfortable,” I say, staring at the hay beneath her.

She grabs me and pulls me down. “Stop overthinking. Just feel,” she says as she directs me to her entrance. She’s already so wet.
