He let out a long groan. "Fine. I can’t have you doing this shit alone."

I felt all eyes on me then, like it was now up to me.Fuck. Dani's eyes were the only ones I wanted contact with, so that's exactly what I did. Her eyes were waiting for me when I found them. She looked expectant as she cocked her head to one side, that cheeky smile of hers playing at the corner of her lips.

"So,Nicholas, what will it be?" She was pushing me in the way only she could.

Dani was the type who liked action; she wanted me to do what I felt. Words to her were pretty, but they were fleeting. I could spiral and say I needed to think about it, calculate the options, but they had a plan, and it was their turn to lead. I didn't know what it was like in this darkness, but I could find out. She was handing it to me, wanting to bring me along.

I would take it. That thing in my chest beat too hard and rapidly for me not to.

I walked over to her, looking down at where she sat and leaned over, that cinnamon scent wrapping around me. I inhaled slightly and narrowed my eyes at her, watching as her brown eyes dilated. There was still a small fire in her eyes for me, as much as she tried to subdue it. I could work with that.

She had stepped into my world, so I would do the same.

"I'm in."

Epilogue

LILITH

My sweet Soul Seether thinks she can simply defy my plan and nothing will happen.Pity. It’s precious to see how settled she’s become. The stories Markus would let me in on; oh, she was seeing a whole new world.

That man was a fool. He was a means to an end, and he got his ending, I suppose. Pure revenge is never the way to go. I looked over to Isabel, her hand wrapped in a bandage.

She was always my favorite.

She arrived at my feet, broken and blinded by magic. Moira’s daughter was a surprising creature. She would be no bother, though.

Dani, my Soul Seether. She let the darkness take over and she killed that fool as my heart grew with pride. Isabel had looked at me as if I’d grown a third eye. I had stroked her hair and simply told her the truth.

“Sacrifices have to be made, but sweet girl, do you think I thrive off one plan alone?” Isabel beamed with confidence.

Dani and her newfound team will come for Isabel and for me, and I’ll be waiting. I’ll wait for her. My Soul Seether has a mind of her own, but that darkness is strong in her.

Her angelic side will continue to pull at her but will cower at every turn.

Elise was good for something, I suppose.

A mind of her own

That independent nature of hers will crumble. I’ll let her think she’s close. I’ll let her

think she can win. Just because she refused my plans this time doesn’t mean she can refuse them again.

She has something worth losing now.

Plans change. Maybe I’d been going about it all wrong when another plan formulated in my mind as Markus’ revenge plot was seemingly coming together. Contingency plans are a must. Isabel simply smiled when I sent her to heal after telling her what I had in store.

Dani will be the ruin I desire for everyone around her, whether she likes it or not.
