Alexis sighed beside him. “He’s not firing you. I promise. But, we might be buckling at the seams of this retreat one day, because we keep building on the land, so if Wilder Wines and other parts of our business decide to franchise, we just wanted to make sure you knew that you were both honorary Wilders. Just saying.”
I blinked at them, before throwing my head back and laughing. “And here I was, worried that I didn’t have a place.”
“And here I was worried that she was going to want to make new choices, turns out you guys are the ones making them for us.”
Alexis scowled when Eli grinned this time.
“I am the puppet master. And you will do as I say.”
“Sure, baby, whatever you say,” Alexis said with a laugh.
“I like being an honorary Wilder,” I said softly. “Although, Naomi Wilder? I don’t know, I don’t think it has the right ring to it.”
Amos chuckled beside me. “It better not,” he grumbled, and then he was kissing me again, and everyone was laughing and dancing, and I knew that this Wilder wedding was one for the books.
It wasn’t the first, nor was it going to be the last. There were a few more Wilders to go, and if Alexis and the others had anything to say about it, they would get them exactly who they needed when the time came.
But I only had eyes for Amos.
The man I had been so afraid to lose, that I never really let myself have in the first place.
I loved him with every ounce of my soul, and now he was fully mine.
Heart, soul, body, and future.
And while we still had a lot to work through, a lot of stress to deal with, a lot of changes to make, I knew that no matter what happened, I finally had a choice in the matter.
And my choice would always be Amos.
For now and forever, no matter what vows we make.
