“He’ll be all right. Just be patient with him, and don’t be alarmed if he behaves in ways you don’t expect.”
“Including cry?”
“It’s healthy to cry,” Gerry stated, raising a brow. “But yes, if that is something you’re unaccustomed to, I recommend you get used to the idea. If you have been taught to be ashamed of your grief or joy or any other emotion that makes you cry, you’ll have to learn to adapt to that. Not crying isn’t a sign of strength.”
My eyes widened. “First, you all watch romantic comedies, then you all embrace actually showing emotion?”
Gerry heaved a sigh and cast a look at his wife, who giggled. “We have a lot of work ahead of us with her, love.”
