Aurora shook her head. “No. I’ve tried, but I’m fairly certain I can locate him.”
“Then we go after them,” Xavier said. “Kayla can open a portal if you can give directions and we have an army of vampires and humans to back us up.”
For the first time since Wolfe and Noah had been taken, she felt a sense of relief. “They headed in that direction.” She pointed north. “I’m just uncertain I can give you an exact spot.”
“No worries,” Ryder spoke. “My mate can open a portal in that general direction, and you should be able to get a better bearing on Wolfe.”
“Okay.” She chewed her lip. “Be warned, these men claimed to have a way to prove someone is a vampire and apparently, they have something that will weaken us. Do you have weapons?”
He smiled. “My mate can shift into one bad-ass black jaguar. I’ve seen her rip the throat out of a very large man.”
“And my mate is a witch.”
Aurora turned to face a tall blond male with intense blue eyes. Standing at his side was a petite female with long black curls and warm eyes of cocoa.
“Hi, I’m Emma and this is Decker.” Emma’s smile gave Aurora hope they might pull off this rescue mission.
“You guys are the other primordials Wolfe has spoken of. All right then, I’m ready to find my mate.”
“Let’s do this then,” Kayla said. “Step into the portal and we’ll go kick some ass.”
Aurora followed Kayla and Ryder, while the rest came up behind them. She had never been in a portal before, and the pressure on her body was like a bear hug. The air in her lungs squeezed out as her skin prickled with energy. It was only a matter of seconds before they stepped back out into the blazing sunshine.
“Take a minute to get your bearings, then see if you can tell me where to go,” Kayla said.
She looked around and noted it was only herself, Kayla, and Ryder.
“Don’t worry, the others are right behind us once we locate Wolfe and Noah.” Ryder must have read the tightness in her muscles.
She nodded, then put her focus on her mate. Closing her eyes, she blocked out everything else.Wolfe, can you hear me?
Nothing but deafening silence. But there was a pull. Something that urged her to move forward. Her gut shouted that there was a hidden compound only a few more miles to the north. She opened her eyes and looked at Kayla. “I don’t know how to explain where to go, but there is a hidden compound north of here a few miles.”
“This time when we step into the portal, take my hand and don’t let go.” The female smiled. “I will get you there.” Then she held out her hand and Aurora didn’t hesitate to clasp the female’s hand. Together, they stepped back into the portal.

“How doI know you’re telling the truth?” Heather whispered.
“You have to trust me. I have been leading several hundred humans and vampires to safety. What your leader here is telling you is bullshit. Females are safe under my watch.” Wolfe narrowed his gaze. “The treatment you have received here would never happen while I draw breath. I have killed men for daring to touch a female who has told them no.”
A glimmer of hope shined in her eyes. “I don’t know where he keeps the keys to the cuffs, but there may be another who does.” She glanced at the door. “No one will be back for several hours. They tend to sleep during the hottest part of the day.”
Rising to her feet, she stared at the door. “If I am caught, they will beat me, then take turns raping me.” Her body trembled and Wolfe swore under his breath.
“I vow to you here and now, if I get free, I will avenge you.”
She looked at him. “You’ll kill them?”
“Is that your desire?”
“I… Yes, I want them to suffer for what they have done to me and the other women here.”
He tipped his head. “Your wish shall be granted. I will make them suffer.”
Noah opened his eyes. “As will I.” His fangs were showing. They needed to get the fuck out of here so Wolfe could rain hell down on this place.
“Okay, I will trust both of you. I have nothing else but death to save me from this shit hole.” She moved toward the door and turned the handle. To Wolfe’s surprise, it opened, and Heather cracked it enough to see outside.
