So did she. Not waiting any longer, she used a portal to where Uuna sat on her throne. Reaching out, she touched her sister’s hand.
“I am sorry for all the time you have spent in your prison.” She summoned her power and the physical connection she now had with Uuna pulled into her sister’s space. It was small, and Uuna stood by a window that looked out into nothingness. The goddess wore a thin silver gown that hung off her frail body. Her prison had taken a toll on her.
“Uuna.”
The goddess turned to face her, her skin pale and her eyes were void of any emotion. “You have come.”
“Do you know who I am?” She dared not take a step closer out of respect for her elder sister. Uuna might be frail, but she was still a full-fledged goddess, while Lysandra was only a demigoddess.
“You are the daughter of Thundohn and Sofia.”
She dipped into a low curtsy. “I am she, but how did you know? Father said he never told you for fear of us being discovered.”
Uuna offered a thin smile. “I saw more than he gave me credit for. I knew the day both you and your sister were born.” She held out her arms. “Come, Lysandra. Let me finally embrace you and call you sister.”
It only took a few steps to cross the small room and step into her sister’s waiting arms. As they hugged, a connection fell into place. Much like a plug being shoved into a socket, energy flowed between them. It was warm and filled with love. Uuna stood taller and her embrace grew stronger. The two of them stayed like this for several minutes until Lysandra felt lightheaded. Uuna backed away.
“Sit,” Uuna commanded as a chair appeared at the back of Lysandra’s knees.
“Thank you. You look much better.”
“Thanks to you, I feel more like myself. I hope I didn’t take too much.”
She shook her head. “Not at all. I came here fully expecting a complete drain.” She had known by going to her sister, she would give some of her power and taking Uuna’s weakness as her own. Lysandra would eventually be back to full strength thanks to being mated to Zander. It was one reason she had been quick to finish the bonding. They shared their strengths. She made him stronger by being a demigoddess, and when she was weak, he would be her strength.
“You are now a princess of Oshivana. Father chose your mate well and two of my tridents are completed.” She smiled. “Yes, I know all about the other artifacts.”
“Yes, but I need to locate our other sister. I’m hopeful by going back to the mortal world, I might get a sense of where she is.”
“It is a sound plan, but be aware, my husband will stop at nothing to gain entry to Oshivana. Make certain you are at full strength and cloaked at all times.”
“I have seen what Zolar is capable of and felt much of it personally.”
Uuna moved back to the window, which still held a view of nothingness. “If he discovers your true identity, or that of our sister, it will not bode well for any of us. We are the key that he requires to unlock the gate and give him access. You must not allow him to capture you again.”
She chewed her lip, now concerned about leaving the safety of Oshivana, but what if Zolar already had their sister? “Why does he desire this city so much?”
Uuna let out a magical laugh. “Because it holds what he desires most. Did you notice anything different about him when you were his captive?”
“He seemed to be aging. I noticed it when he let his guard down.” She frowned. “But I thought he wanted to rule the Valarians and then the mortals. That was his reasoning for taking the city.”
“Oh, he will do that and more, but the true reason is I took something from him he wants back very much.”
“What did you take, sister?”
“I took his heart.”
She blinked. “How is that even possible?” Lysandra knew that a god’s one weakness was the removal of their heart. They could live a long time without it, but their time was shortened and the more power they tried to wield, the faster their days ticked away.
“I mean, I know it can be done, but how were you able to just take it from him?”
Her smile grew once more. “My dearest sister. It matters not the species, or how powerful they are. All men have a weakness called a penis. I fucked him senseless and while he slept, I cut out his heart.” She lifted her arms and waved them in the air.
“Oshivana beats with the power of a god’s heart and the anger of his wife.”
“Then if he wins, the city truly falls,” she whispered.
“In more ways than one. Father was wise for procreating and spreading the power between the queen’s protectors.”
