“I did this to you.”

She sensed his guilt and shook her head. “But I was supposed to remember and meant to find you finally. I loved that meadow outside the palace because I also loved this one.”

“I don’t understand.”

She reached up and touched his face. “My life started here, in Oshivana, long before you were born.” She gasped as so much information came to her. “The little girl in the painting, back in the home I went to. That was not my ancestor, that was me.”

He pulled back to study her. “I don’t understand. I thought you were Lomara reincarnated.”

“I am, but I am also more than just her.” She reached for her clothing, which had been neatly folded when he had zapped them naked. “We need to see the king and queen, and I will explain everything I remember.”

They dressed, but she stopped abruptly.

“What’s wrong?”

Only half dressed, she stepped into his space and put her arms around his neck. “Tonight, we must complete our bond.”

His brows dipped down. “You want to complete the mating?”

“Yes. I know this is fast, but I thought that’s what you wanted.”

“More than anything, but are you sure? I mean, this is rather quick. I guess I wasn’t expecting your memories to… Hell, I’m not sure what I expected.” He scrubbed his face. “As long as you’re happy, that’s all I care about.”

She kissed him. “I have so much to tell you, but the most important is that I love you.” She caressed his cheek and smiled so hard her own ached. “I loved you so much in those days. It hurt, but it was not the right time for us, but now is.” She pulled away and finished dressing.

Once he was done, she held out her hand. “Allow me this time.” When he entwined his fingers in hers, she opened a portal and took them directly to the king and queen, who were snuggled together on several cushions in the sunken seating area facing the setting sun. Both looked up when they arrived.

The queen smiled. “You two are simply beaming.” Then her brows dipped, and creases marred her forehead. “Zander, you look…”

“Stunned might be the word you’re looking for?” he replied.

“Is something wrong?” Greydon leaned forward, ready to jump to his feet.

“No. Things are as they should be, but I have a lot of news to share. May we join you?” she asked.

“Of course.” Greydon waved them into the seating pit.

Sheila was quick to make her way to the king and queen. When she was in front of them, she gave a deep curtsey. “Your majesties.”

“Umm.” Aimee looked at Zander.

“She has her memories back,” he replied and led Sheila to a cushion.

“Well, this is cause for celebration. That is, once we hear your news,” Greydon said. “Do I call you Sheila, or Lomara?”

She took a seat, then replied, “Neither. I am Lysandra.”

Aimee gasped, then slapped her hand over her mouth. “Sorry. That was rude, but I have seen that name several times and I never connected the two together.”

“There would be no reason you would.”

“I am confused,” Zander piped in, still holding her hand, and she gave it a squeeze.

“I know all of this is unsettling so let me start at the beginning.”

CHAPTER17

Zander tried to relax, but it simply wasn’t going to happen. The female beside him who he knew to be his mate wasn’t Sheila and wasn’t Lomara. Did it matter? Not really. He didn’t care what name she chose, he only knew what his gut told him. The blood bond had grown even stronger since they had been intimate and right then, he was having a difficult time not whisking her away so they could be together again. The fact she wanted to complete the bond tonight made him restless.
