I grin down at her. “You’re never gonna get rid of me now, baby girl.”

She huffs but I can tell she’s happy.

The minister humphs. “I’d like to introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy Johnson.”

We stroll down the aisle proudly on our way to the church basement where we’re holding our reception.

Our first dance is just like holding heaven in my arms. She sways and hums under her breath as the band plays Last Christmas.

This is the last Christmas we’ll ever be apart. Our parents made us spend last night apart from each other and I never intend to do that again. I couldn’t sleep without my arms wrapped around my little Pet. Her curves are a little wider and curvier than they were before she had our son, Cody, but she’s just more beautiful to me.

“I love you so much, Pet. And I always will.” I kiss her soft cheek and close my eyes, swaying to the music and just enjoying this moment.

This last moment with my girl alone. When we leave here, we leave as a family.

Our tree is up. Our gifts are under the tree. And I’m ready to finally start our new life as a happily married couple with a son.

But for now…I just want to hold my very own angel tight and dance with her in my arms. Where she belongs. Where she always has a home.

Safe within the protective circle of my embrace. Her head on my chest and her arms wrapped around my waist, swaying to the music and lost in the magic of our love.
