We’re playing as the home team, so the other team is up to bat first. I give the boys their positions and they hustle out to their designated spots. Hudson is still putting on his pads, so I run out and help Joey, our starting pitcher, warm up. He gets a handful of throws in by the time Hudson is done getting on his gear and replacing me. I’m heading back to the dugout when I feel the sense of being watched, which is odd because I know there are a bunch of people here right now watching, but I feel likeI’mspecifically being watched. I turn to look out, but no one stands out of the crowd.
“You good, Coach?” Kara asks.
I nod. “All good.” I give her a big grin. “Let’s do this.”

KESSLER
I get to the field in plenty of time to find a spot to watch the game, yet hide in the crowd. I have a plain black hat and sunglasses on, hoping no one will realize it’s me. I see Lucy talking to the boys in the dugout before the game. It’s taking everything I have not to rush over there and wrap my arms around her, but I know that would be the ultimate distraction for the boys. I see the boys break and head out to their positions. Lucy heads to home plate to warm up the pitcher and I stare at her ass as she squats down in the catching position. I can’t help but imagine what it would feel like to grip it in both my hands while she’s riding me. I give myself a mental shake.
Get it together Kessler, getting a hard on during a little league game would not be good.
Lucy stands to head back to the dugout as Hudson comes to claim his position but turns around and stares directly at me.
Shit.
A group of people walk in front of me and I move with them, not wanting her to know I’m here. I decide to head to the outfield where there are less people and more places for me to hide. I’m not as close to the action as I would like, but that also means Lucy won’t spot me either. My phone pings with a text and I pull it out of my pocket to see who it is.
Judd
Thanks Dickhead.
Me
Woah Woah Woah. WTF did I do.
Judd
Now that you’ve decided you’re in love, Moms set her sights on me.
Love? Wait, no one said anything about being in love.
Me
Hold the fuck up. No one said anything about love. All I told Mom was that I was interested in someone.
Judd
Better tell that to Mom then, because she specifically said the word love.
I scratch my head and think back to my conversation with my mom. I know for a fact I didn’t say I was in love with Lucy. Because that would be crazy, right? We haven’t even had a date yet.
Me
Mom’s getting old.
Judd
I’ll tell her you said that.
Me
Go ahead, I’m not scared.
Lies. I’m completely scared, but if I bluff, Judd might buy it and not say anything.
