“What about me?” Morgan laughs.
“I hope nobody says the B word three times,” I shiver.
“Beetlejuice!” Mila shouts and I quickly put a finger to my lips, trying not to smile.
Morgan is decked out in a striped jumpsuit, a white frizzy wig, and makeup that's damn good if I do say so myself.
“You look pretty too, Mommy!”
“Yeah, you are the prettiest princess, Oak.”
I look down at the skimpy outfit I'm wearing and frown. Harley insisted I get a costume of my own when we took the girls shopping for theirs.
“Thanks, girls.”
Pulling at the hem of my dress, I motion for the girls to head to the living room to show Thorn how good they look.
Hearing us coming, he lifts up from his spot on the couch and his eyes light up when he sees us.
“Well, would you look at that,” he says, grinning. “I’ve got Beetlejuice and Wednesday Adams right here in my living room."
The girls giggle as they twirl around, showing off their costumes.
“And you.” He eyes me up and down. “That's hot, babe.”
I feel my cheeks heat. “Thanks, honey.”
“You girls ready to go trick-or-treating?” Thorn asks, already reaching for his boots.
“Yes!” both girls scream, taking off to grab their buckets.
“I’ve got a treat for you later, woman. Come here.” Thorn’s arms wrap around me from behind and he grounds his hardness into my bottom.
“I can feel that.” I laugh.
“Later,” he promises, kissing my temple and stepping back as the girls reappear.
Together, we step out into the crisp October air and follow behind the girls as they race towards the first house with a porch light on.
Seeing the girls’ excitement, I can't help but smile.
“Happy?” Thorn asks, slipping his hand into mine and squeezing it.
I nod. “The happiest.”
The End.
