As the room door swung closed, Gerald got to his feet. “I’m gonna go… Um. Change. Ties. So. See ya!”

Iggy and I held in our cackles until he was gone. “I knew those two would be good together.”

“Well, we don’t know that for sure yet,” I murmured, pulling him against me for another, deeper kiss. “It’s new.”

“I have a hunch,” he replied, tucking himself against me. “You think if we don’t show up, anyone will notice?”

“Pepper will. And since she’s going to be the one in charge of this festival starting next year and our boss, technically, we should definitely at least make an appearance.”

“Hmph. Fine. After, though…” He held out his hand and wiggled that ring finger at me. “I expect my Prince Charming to sweep me off my feet.”

“I thought I already had.”

He grinned, getting to his feet and pulling me with him. “Can’t hurt to do it again. And again.”
