Nate leans back and flashes a cocky grin. “I thought you looked sexy in court today, but now I can’t stop wondering what’s under the robe.”

Seriously? That’s the Nathaniel I remember, and it’s good to see that side of him. “You want to get flirty now?”

“Flirty and frisky.” He wags his eyebrows, and that makes me smile. “I’ve already encroached on your space tonight, so why not? We can go back to keeping our distance tomorrow.”

He’s giving up a little easy. That makes me question why. “You think?”

He shrugs. “If I’m being honest, I can come up with a reason to see you every night.”

I laugh, imagining a lab book with all the explanations scribbled down. For some reason, I don’t see him having neat handwriting. His brain works too fast for that. “You probably could.”

He straightens, his eyes widening. “Does that mean I can stay?”

The hope in his voice makes my resolve waver. He can draw me to him like a moth to a flame, but I don’t think one more round of sex will burn me since I’m already pregnant. I’m ready to relent until I remember what he told me about my client. “I want to research what you mentioned.”

He tilts his head. “What if we just have a quickie, then?”

“Nate!”

“I miss you.”

Heaven help me, but I miss him too. “How quick are you talking?”

“Want to find out?” His gorgeous eyes sweep over my face and down my body.

I’m naked under the robe, and I’m wet but not from my bath. Nate has the ability to do that. No other man has been able to do that to me with a simple look. Not a single one.

Damn him.

I wait for him to touch me, to undo the belt, and push my robe down my shoulders, but he hasn’t moved. That’s when it hits me. He’s waiting for me to answer him.

I appreciate Nate not being the arrogant, self-assured CEO tonight. Oh, his cockiness is attractive—at times. But it wasn’t after telling me to do my homework. Something I should’ve done already, if I’m being honest with myself.

My career means everything to me, but this man makes me want to forget about what I should do—ask him to leave me alone until the OB appointment—and do what I want with him tonight.

No one will know.

It’s still wrong.

So what?

Valid point.

The little devil on my shoulder wins. I grab Nate’s shirt and pull him to me. My mouth smashes against his, so fast I feel him inhale. As I probe with my tongue, he opens up to me, tasting minty fresh and like pure heaven.

I let go, and my hands travel to his hair, fingers sifting through his strands.

I’ve missed him. It’s as simple and as complicated as that.

He wraps his arms around me, pulling me closer. Damn, this must be one of the best kisses I’ve ever had. The bud of nerves between my legs throbs with need.

I arch forward, needing friction against my nipples. The terry cloth works, but I should just lose the robe, so I reach for the belt.

“Bedroom.” He sweeps me into his arms as if I weigh nothing. I must admit I’m impressed.

As he carries me, I giggle. I can’t believe I’m giggling. Giggling and pregnant at my age. What about Nate Lowe makes the man so irresistible to me?
