I looked around the living room and noticed the art pieces made of marker and crayons all over the wall. Krash must’ve fallen asleep right after we finished texting because the amount of mess around the house was a lot for a two-year-old.
“Did you make those drawings on the wall?” I asked as I placed her back on her feet.
She nodded with a grin. “Pwetty!”
“Yes, very pretty, princess.”
I got down on my knees beside Krash and pecked his lips. He stirred in his sleep. I repeated the actions several times until his eyes fluttered open.
“Hey,” he said in a voice laced with sleep.
“You’re terrible at watching your daughter,” I replied with a smirk.
“I was just resting my eyes, Bern.”
“You rested your eyes long enough for your daughter to paint an entire art exhibit on the walls.”
“Again? I spent two hours today scrubbing the damn walls,” he grumbled.
I laughed. “She created even more masterpieces. We’re going to need to hide the markers and crayons from her.”
“You’re right.”
Krash stood up and helped me up to my feet. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close. His lips met mine, and I melted under his touch.
“Ewww,” the tiny voice squealed.
“It sounds like somebody wants to get attacked by the kissing monster,” Krash stated. His voice had morphed into who I assumed to be the kissing monster as he lifted his hands and chased his twin around the room. Keyana giggled before she crashed into my legs and held on for dear life. Unfortunately, I was a henchman for the kissing monster and offered her right up to him. He tickled her and showered kisses all over her face. The sight of my husband and daughter made my heart swell with pride.
This chaotic mess was my norm. The two of them made waking up in the morning easy. Everything I did, I did to see them both happy. Krash took care of most of the bills with the millions he had in his account. He also brought in money from the gym and cameos he’d been doing for movies, television, and commercials. Though he wasn’t in the ring anymore, he had several sources of income coming in.
On the days he worked at the gym, he’d take Keyana to my parents’ home. They spoiled her rotten. Their house was covered in toys. Both of them had dedicated their lives to their grandbaby. It was actually hilarious to watch them let a two-year old who weighed thirty pounds run their lives.
After dinner, we did our nightly routine which consisted of bathtime with daddy, bedtime with mommy, and then both parents having to tell Keyana to go to sleep. Once the toddler was out, we’d clean up the house, take showers, and climb into bed.
“I’m going to have to hire more maids. How can one child make such big messes?” Krash stated as he rubbed my ass.
“And you wanted to have another one,” I teased.
“I still do,” he replied.
I shook my head. “Maybe next year.”
“We can keep practicing though.” He smacked my ass.
“You know, I’ve been reflecting a lot today. From how far my company has gone to the success of our relationship. It’s a blessing to be here with you and Keyana.” I rubbed my fingertips against his chest.
“I think about us a lot. It took us crashing and burning to come back even stronger. That time apart made us better people for each other. I’ve never had a stronger connection to anyone else.”
“I love you, Krash.”
“I love you more, Bern.”
