“About time someone shut you up,” Mark shouts, causing everyone to laugh.
“But it’s made me realize that I don’t need speeches and big gestures to tell you how I feel. It’s what’s in my heart. And that’s you.” I reach out and take his hand. “Wade, you are my heart, my soul and my everything in between. You’ve not just changed me and helped me grow; you’ve grown with me, and I have found something in you that I have been searching for my whole life. When I found you, I found my freedom, and I wouldn’t be here today, nor would I be the man I am today if it weren’t for you. So, I will only marry you if you marry me?”
“Of course I will marry you.”
Cheers erupt and the music starts playing as Wade and I stand I press my mouth to his and kiss him with all the love I feel.
“I love you so much.”
“I love you, too,” he says. “Thank you for making my heart your home. I promise I will look after it forever.”
He’s doing it already. He has brought me into the light and shown me a life in which I can live with no fear, no uncertainty, and no looking back. The war in my head has ended because of him, and I plan on living this life until the end of time, standing by his side as we explore the world together.
My first addiction may have tried to break me, but my second and favorite addiction—Wade-fucking-Johnson—has saved me and he is now the only thing I crave, and the only thing I need.
“Forever is all I want with you.”
THE END.
