I spotted Nat coming out of the locker room onto the court, and stood up, “Good luck, Natasha Wareman!” I yelled, not giving an absolute shit that I was embarrassing her again, and probably myself.
She predictably turned bright red and waved half-heartedly as all of us laughed and Lexi tackled her onto the team’s chairs teasing her.
Chapter 18
The boss was not going to like this one bit. I raised my phone to my ear.
“What?”
“Clark, you’re probably gonna wanna get over here and see this for yourself.”
“What the hell are you talking about, you idiot?”
I cringed. He had such a temper. It really was no wonder Becks had run when she had. But I was on his side as far as she didn’t have any right to be the one to walk away.
“That cop she’s been hanging out with came back to her apartment with her tonight. Alone.”
There was silence on the other end of the line.
“I’ll be there in a minute.”
I drew back, further into the brush so no one could see me, sliding my hands in my pockets to wait. At least I could enjoy another show.
Clark had me following her ever since she’d moved again. Neither of us had ever planned on her ever feeling safe enough to settle down and move on though.
Fucking pig cop.
I’d been following them around for a while on their little lunch dates.
Becks was holding back. Pretending to not be some stupid slut. I didn’t think they’d actually screwed yet.
I’d scared her good the night I’d spent prank calling her. Listening to her voice get more and more breathless with each call. I hadn’t been able to stop myself from jerking off. Imagining it was because I was fucking her good.
Clark even said if he got her back he’d let me have a turn with her finally. I’d always wanted a piece of that ass.
It had been hilarious when I’d tapped on the window and heard her scrambling away, terrified on the other side. I’d rubbed my cum all over the white siding under the window.
Marking it as mine.
I loved jerking off to Becks. Always had.
Chapter 19
Ipulled into Becks’ apartment parking lot behind her, wondering if this was the best idea. We’d all cheered loud and been as embarrassing as possible for Nat and Lexi. After the game, Becks had handed her some money, letting her know she could spend the night with her friend and go shopping tomorrow. When I’d walked Becks to her vehicle, she’d stood there, only looking at her feet nervously, before I prodded her for information.
“What’s on your mind, sweetheart?” I asked, leaning against her SUV.
“I was just wondering if you wanted to come over tonight and watch a movie or something? Since Nat is out of the house,” she trailed off nervously.
“I couldn’t think of any other way I would rather spend my Friday night, Rebecca,” I’d replied, my voice soft.
She’d grinned up at me relieved, and I’d had to add another tally to my mental check list of reasons I wanted to end her dickhead of an ex. This gorgeous woman in front of me, shouldn’t be so relieved and elated that a man wanted to spend an evening with her. It wasn’t spending time with her that was a bad idea. It was the fact that I wasn’t sure how much longer I’d be able to hold back with her.
Two months of nothing but kissing her senseless had me saving money on hot water. I hadn’t made out with someone this often since high school. I had to shake my head at myself. I was trying to be patient and wait. I didn’t want to push her, but, God I wanted her. The noises she made when we were together, just kissing, pressing my body into hers, had caused me to imagine what she’d sound like coming apart for me. I took a deep breath as I got out of my truck, making sure to lock it up.
“Get a grip, Lucas,” I muttered to myself.
I followed Becks into her apartment and shut and locked the door for her, before taking off my shoes and belt with my gun and other items on it. As I sat it on her kitchen bar I untucked my shirt. I glanced up and caught her staring at me where she’d dropped her tote on an armchair in the living room.
