Anna and I exploded in a fit of laughter, screams, and excited giggles as we boarded the plane for our new home.

“So when will I meet my own crazy in love psycho boy to love on?” she asked, not missing the way Chase narrowed his eyes.

“I’m not crazy,” he huffed, putting his air pods in ready to tune us out the entire flight. I couldn’t even blame him.

“Well I am,” I kissed him softly as we put our seatbelts on, “for you at least.”

The plane jerked and bumped as it began to move down the runaway gaining speed for takeoff.

“Omg, what if we both end up at the same job again! And we both run that office like the baddies we are!” she exclaimed as she started talking my ear off about all of the new experiences we were going to have.

I smiled at her as I listened, stealing glances at Chase who was listening to a podcast about math, lost in his own world of numbers. My heart never felt more at peace. I was finally happy with a family I chose.

The plane shuttered as the wheels left the ground. The smooth takeoff put the city of Pittsburgh farther and farther below us. Leaving behind all the old memories making way for new ones to take root.

Chase reached over squeezing my hand. I squeezed his back, loving him, loving the new life we were choosing, excited for what the future held for us.

I was finally going home.
