He winked and grinned down at me. “Happy to play the prince for you, my lady. Ty can be the big bad wolf trying to steal you away.”
Ty chuckled, following behind us as Levi guided me toward the stairs. “This is one story where the villains win in the end, pet. Just so you’re prepared.”
“Well this is one princess who doesn’t need rescuing, mongrel. I’ll be kicking all your asses before the day ends.”
Ty smacked my ass, making me yelp. “Looking forward to it, babygirl.”
Levi led me all the way to the top floor. I recognized it as Andras’s room, from the night before. The bedroom was huge, with two walls of massive windows facing out to the concrete jungle beyond. We were definitely in the city. This townhouse was actually stunning, now that I could see it in the light of day, like millions of dollars stunning. I suppose being in a crazy cult with thousands of followers paid well. Levi ushered me into a massive bathroom with light-gray marble covering the floors and walls. A beautiful clawfoot tub sat beneath a bay window, and a zero entry shower dominated the far wall. This was less of a bathroom and more of a personal spa.
“Damn.” I whistled, looking around. “A girl could definitely get used to this.”
Ty pulled a fluffy charcoal robe from a closet and hooked it on the wall next to the shower. His eyes dragged across my body from my toes up to my face. He gave me a filthy grin and a dark chuckle that had my pussy pulsing. His eyes darkened as they followed the flush spreading across my skin, and he dragged his thumb across my bottom lip.
“Get cleaned up, pet. We’ll be waiting.”
Levi brushed my hair off my shoulders, fisting it in his hand and tugging lightly, bringing my attention back to him. “Need any help, babe? I could hold your hair up for you?”
I laughed even as my heart raced with thoughts of these monsters owning my body all at once. “I can handle it, but thanks for the gracious offer.”
Levi gave my hair a little tug and smiled broadly. “Next time then.”
“Yeah. Sure.” I waved them away and shut the door.
I waited until I heard them walk away, then locked it. Of course, they could break it down, but it still felt better to have it locked. I peered out the windows near the sink and tub. We were on the top floor, and there was not a single thing I could use to scale this wall without falling to my death. And I didn’t fancy dying just yet, so showering was my next best option. I turned on the water and flicked the switch for the exhaust fan to drown out any noise.
“Zenith?” I whispered, watching the door.
“Here, Nova. What an eventful morning you’re having,” Tibby snarked.
I rolled my eyes, pulling off my T-shirt and panties. “You could say that. I don’t know how much alone time I’m going to get.”
“We don’t have much time anyway. The earpiece is dying. So unless I can come up with a way to get a new one to you, I’m going to lose you.”
“Well fuck.”
I stepped into the shower, tying my hair up to keep it out of the water. I only washed it about once a week and I’d just shampooed it two nights ago. Besides, until Dev came back with all my personal hair and makeup products, it wasn’t worth the hour-long blowdry.
“Oh, I’ve got it!” Tibby shouted in my ear, making me jump. “If you can get them to let you go to work, I can slip a new ear piece in your dressing room.”
I grinned. “Zenith, you’re a genius.”
Tibby snorted. “Obviously. I suppose you don’t need any new contacts.”
“Fuck I know. I thought Andras was going to gouge my eyes out. And he looked at me so strangely. He knows something, Zenith. I know he does. He’s not going to keep me here without questioning me.”
Tibby’s fingers rapped against her keyboard. “Don’t answer too many questions and avoid using your badass ninja skills. Be the damsel for now. And just keep them distracted. Make them focus on something else, like your tits.”
I barked a laugh then clamped down on my mouth, watching the door. “I’ll work on that. I’m almost done. How much battery life do we have?”
Tibby clicked away on her keyboard. “Not even an hour. Sorry, Nova. You’ll be on your own for a bit. Don’t die, okay?”
I sighed. “I’ll do my best. See you tonight, hopefully.”
“Make it happen, Nova.” Tibby’s voice was stern and pleading all at once. “Otherwise I’ll send the cops.”
I nodded, even though she couldn’t see me. “I will.”
I tugged the earpiece out and tossed it on top of my T-shirt. I’d have to stash it somewhere for now. I snagged a clean razor from the closet and decided to enjoy this alone time a little longer, humming to myself. The lyrics to Carly Simon’s “Nobody Does it Better” poured out of me in a wave. It was one of my favorites. Her words always resonated strongly with me.
