“Your phone. Please, just answer it.” He growls, reaching over and answering it.

“This better be life or death. I’m trying to fuck my girl.”

I can’t hear who is on the line, but whatever they are saying has Cade’s whole demeanor changes. He hangs up the phone.

“We need to go, now.” Tucking his cock away, as he climbs out of the truck.

Once we are back in the car; he starts it up and speeds back home. The rest of the ride is pure silence, and I wonder what I did wrong.

Chapter Thirty-Seven

HACKER

“Kha, listen, buddy. We have to go,” Mommy says.

“Where’s Tia Ny?” I ask her, tears in my eyes.

I don’t want to leave her.

“She’s not coming with us this time.” Mommy says, grabbing hold of my hand.

“Will she meet us there?” Looking up at her.

“One day.” She says, but she has tears falling down her face. “It will just be us for a little while.”

She has my sissy in her tummy. I can’t wait to play with her. I’ll be the best big brother ever. We walk for a while until we get to the train track. Mommy is on the phone, so I wait on the bench for her.

“Khalil.” I hear my daddy calling my name. “Come here, son.”

I look around for him, but I don’t see him anywhere. Standing up, I go to tell mommy when I hear someone behind me, so I turn around.

“Where’s your mom, Kha?” Daddy asks.

“She was on the phone over there.” I turn around to point at her, but she’s not there.

Where did she go?

“She left, buddy. Come on, let’s go home.” He says, taking my hand.

Why would she leave without me?

“Where’s Tia Ny, daddy?” I follow him to the car. When he opens the back door, I see Tia Ny sitting there. She opens her arms out for me.

“Come on, buddy. Let’s go home.” She says, with a smile on her face.

“What about mommy?” I ask.

“She left, buddy. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you.” She says.

Why would she leave us? Did she not want me anymore?

As we head out of the parking lot, I see mommy searching around.

“Look, there’s mommy.” I say, pointing out the window.

“Hey buddy. Are you thirsty?” Tia Ny asks me.

She hands me a bottle of water. I take a drink and then feel sleepy. My eyes close and the last words I hear from my dad leave me confused.
